Job Description
Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Absence Claims and Customer Liaison!
About The Role
In this role, you will manage the claim relationships for a block of national account size and complex group customers, in partnership with the designated account managers. You will act as the central point person for all inquiries, customer concerns, customer education and presentations. You will also identify customer needs, trends and opportunities for Symetra to improve service delivery.
What You Will Do
  • Customer Relationship Management
  • Identify gaps in processes and/or training needs. Dialogue with claims leaders and the field on addressing these as needed
  • Build and provide customer reporting as needed to support needs
  • Lean in to help drive solutions with the claims leaders in the mid market (1,000-2,499) space where customization and solutions synergies can be attained
  • Claims Project & Capabilities Support
  • Recommend improvements to client profile documents to align service execution with customer needs
  • On occasion, service touchpoints may include Life/LTD/Workforce Benefits
  • Provide team training and education
  • Internal Collaboration
  • Post-Sale Support
  • Engage and run point primarily on national size (2500 lives and above) and complex STD/absence customers
  • Attend and lead disability capabilities presentations and provide support on Absence presentations with the Senior Absence Consultant as needed
  • Provide direct access to the claims team for customers as well as participating in key customer calls and stewardship activities alongside field partners
  • Drive customer execution alongside the claims team, and proactively identify customer trends and solutions
  • Proactively engage with claim teams as new business comes through the implementation pipeline to ensure new customers start their Symetra relationship on a positive note
  • Review claims RFPs, complex amendments, compliance and product audit requests and client customization needs for recommendations
  • Monitor and assemble Champion team assignments and leverage SME support as needed
  • Translate customer/business needs into useful insights and service delivery strategy

Compensation
Salary Range: $66,600 – $110,900 plus eligibility for annual bonus program
Your Experience And Skills
  • Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong product and compliance understanding of STD and Absence benefits
  • Outstanding communication (verbal/written) and presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Certified Leave Management Specialist (CLMS) preferred
  • 5 years of absence management service delivery and claim support
  • 7+ years of STD and absence management service delivery and claim support preferred
  • Exposure to working with other group products including Life, LTD, Critical Illness, Accident, Hospital Indemnity a plus
