Who You Are


brightwheel is seeking a State Partnerships Lead to join our Government Partnerships Team. In this role, you will be responsible for the operations, implementation, and success of our largest statewide contracts, ensuring their objectives and expectations are met and exceeded.


What You’ll Do


  • Become an essential resource on the brightwheel platform, training and guiding government clients to use our solution effectively and providing insights and troubleshooting on complex issues
  • Be prepared for up to 20% travel to meet with key clients and stakeholders as needed
  • Collaborate with our sales and customer success teams to identify opportunities for contract expansion, renewal, and upselling
  • Provide strategic insights to our product and engineering teams, leveraging customer feedback and your understanding of government contracts to enhance our platform
  • Act as a “voice of the customer,” conveying their needs and feedback to our Product and Engineering teams to drive continuous improvement of our platform
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure all teams are aligned to support and ensure project success
  • Develop a playbook for the successful implementation of our largest statewide contracts, including mass acquisition and onboarding of individual schools
  • Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders in our government state contracts
Qualifications, Skills, & Abilities


  • A proactive problem solver with excellent negotiation skills
  • Proven track record of achieving challenging goals
  • Experience managing state contracts is a plus
  • 4+ years of project management and operations experience
  • Expert problem-solving skills to identify a problem, use data to analyze the root cause, and create the most effective, aligned, measurable solution
  • A strong ability to present and demonstrate product offerings to clients
  • Methodical, intuitive organization skills with experience creating systems and processes for others
  • Strong stakeholder and project management skills to effectively influence and manage expectations with Senior Management and cross-functional teams
  • Great attention to detail
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field. An advanced degree would be a plus
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

For cash compensation, brightwheel sets standard ranges for all roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies.
