This position is a sales and customer success leadership position accountable for:
1)profitable achievement of goals for assigned territories and/or products;
2)alignment of sales objectives with business strategy;
3)development and expansion of key accounts; and
4)promotion of corporate identity, brands, market share, and customer satisfaction.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops and communicates accurate forecasting metrics and reports regularly on results;
- Participates, as needed, as a leader and key member of the customer/partner success team to ensure the customer lifecycle, renewals, and upsells are successful;
- Provides regular and timely market information, competitive information, and customer needs context;
- Represents customer needs and potentials in product planning and investment case development; facilitates and provides timely customer feedback in support of product management;
- Fosters a culture of accountability, high performance, professional development, and ethical behavior;
- Travels extensively for in-person meetings, trade shows, conferences, and other business development activities; delivers presentations to promote the company’s business, products, research, and services.
- Reviews analyses of activities, customers, operations, sales and forecast data to evaluate progress toward established goals and objectives;
- Implements existing sales processes that drive desired outcomes; identifies improvements where and when required;
- Participates in formulating and administering company policies, and developing long range strategy, goals, and objectives;
- Works closely with marketing and product management functions to establish successful support, channel, and partner programs;
- Implements sales objectives in alignment with corporate strategy through active participation in strategic planning, development of KPIs, development of key initiatives, forecasting, resource planning, and budgeting;
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date customer information in CRM/Salesforce;
- Creates and executes plans for developing business, achieving sales goals, and expanding the customer base; compiles and reports information/data on customer and prospect interactions;
- Manages key accounts; builds and maintains productive peer-to-peer relationships; promotes long-lasting customer relationships; participates in strategic policy and trade groups;
- Achieves assigned objectives for sales, profits, volume, product mix and other strategic goals for assigned territories and products;
- Supports the achievement of strategic objectives critical to other functional areas;
- Manages assigned budget in accordance with corporate goals and guidelines;
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Proven experience managing key customer accounts and closing strategic opportunities;
- Demonstrable experience as a successful B2B sales leader in K-12 education, developing client-focused, differentiated, and achievable solutions to meet or exceed sales targets;
- Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university with 10+ years of sales/management experience or leadership experience within a state department of education; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Proficient in Windows environment, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, network file management and Internet navigation;
- Seasoned business traveler with high professional polish.
- Established network and leadership in the education sector (e.g., governmental agencies, corporations, trade groups, and/or administrative bodies);
- CRM experience preferred;
- Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level;
- MBA or relevant Master’s degree preferred;
