The USFL is seeking a Director of Commercial Partnerships to join their team. The Director will support local and national sponsorship sales efforts for the USFL and have a critical role as the USFL continues to build out its sponsorship capabilities. They will primarily be responsible for liaising with our local sales agency and secondarily supporting national sales efforts (led by FOX Sports). This role will also serve as a partnership manager, communicating local activations to marketing leads when they are supporting activations or liaising with a brand’s activation agency when necessary.


a Snapshot Of Your Responsibilities


  • Providing additional support during site visits and meetings
  • Maintaining open lines of communication among stakeholders
  • Serving as a key point of contact for our local sponsorship sales agency
  • Establishing and cultivating relationships with Football Operations with the primary objective being to collaborate on and ideate around the development of new sponsorable assets
  • Establishing strong relationships with stakeholders of all Business Operations functions in the USFL, focusing on those that relate most directly with Partnership Sales and Activation efforts such as Sales, Marketing, and Legal
  • Supporting National Sponsorship sales efforts (led by FOX Sports) when requested. For example, building or editing pitch decks, brainstorming around asset utilization or creation, and strategizing around prospects and categories
  • Monitoring key deadlines and stated objectives and ensuring effective communication of progress as needed to key stakeholders
  • Assisting with research, creation, and preparation of presentations
  • Managing key tasks and primary responsibilities associated with coordinating sold activations with local sales agency representatives, brand activation agencies, and local marketing leads


What You Will Need


  • 4+ years of experience with a sports team, league, or agency in a sales capacity
  • Ability to create support and buy-in across a wide range of stakeholders; create a strong network of relationships among peers, internal partners, external constituencies, and decision makers
  • Ability to synthesize information, prioritize business goals, and drive results with a high sense of urgency, agility, and flexibility
  • Pragmatic problem solver and forward thinker with independence of thought
  • Promote a culture of collaboration and teamwork across organizational boundaries; willing to break down functional silos to optimize business results and facilitate the overall growth of the league
  • Partnerships sales and/or strategy experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and written/verbal communication skills with leadership/ executive presence

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $118,000.00-158,000.00 annually for California, Washington, New York City and Westchester County, NY. $98,300.00-131,600.00 annually for Colorado. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
