What is the HR Communications group responsible for?
HR Communications provides information to help global Franklin Templeton employees get the most out of their benefits, HR policies and programs, and to help leaders effectively lead, manage, and support their employees. We consult, coordinate, plan, create, and deliver content for all functional areas in HR. Our team oversees communications and online content about, but not limited to, employee benefits, work-life and wellbeing resources, employee recognition, retirement and equity programs, compensation, performance management, employee development, time off, job opportunities, and HR policies. We do this in partnership with HR leadership and subject matter experts (SMEs).
What is the Sr. HR Communication Consultant responsible for?
The Sr HR Communication Consultant is responsible for leading the editorial process of sourcing, writing, and editing content and project managing HR communications projects. The role is highly interactive and requires close teamwork with subject matter experts (SMEs) and other key stakeholders to develop high-quality internal communications and online content focused on the total rewards Franklin Templeton offers to its employees. Additionally, the Sr HR Communication Consultant is responsible for the maintenance and evolution of the employee-facing HR communication portals and the internal HR portals.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of the Sr. HR Communication Consultant?
  • Supports development of presentation materials for HR events, including town halls, checkpoint and other meetings; and HR/people messaging for roadshows and quarterly all-employee calls.
  • Edits and/or proofreads content for HR Communications colleagues and SMEs. Manages email communications and marketing collateral lifecycle, from branding to distribution.
  • Acts as communications lead for assigned categories/topics/regions.
  • Acts as administrator and content manager for HR intranet portals. Responsibilities include: designing, creating, and maintaining website structure, soliciting and assembling content updates, coordinating the posting of intranet content, and overseeing the web production to ensure the successful completion of content updates.
  • Interacts with people from across the division and the organization―from senior executives to SMEs to administration staff―to research, write, and deliver HR-related content for leaders and employees, such as briefing notes, news and features for the intranet, internal leader and employee messaging, and a range of supporting communications.
  • Project manages communications deliverables, campaigns, and initiatives, including meeting with stakeholders to understand and consult on communication needs; uses project management skills to develop and execute communications strategy.
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
  • Strong web design and web development skills, especially using SharePoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Undergraduate degree in communications, public relations, marketing or related field or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in MS Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Organized and self-motivated individual, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an employee/internal communications role with writing, editing, and content development and management experience
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and aggressive timelines
  • Strong interview and editing skills
  • Strong level of comfort in working with and influencing executive leadership and other stakeholders
Compensation Range: Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $75,000 - $90,000.
