Job Description

Human Resources Partners (HRP) provides front-line human resources support to individual contributors and/or managers in one or more organizations. They provide leadership in the implementation, development, and execution of HR related policies, programs, and guidelines. The HRP is a culture keeper for Amazon’s Leadership Principles and actively works in promoting them in all interactions; they apply knowledge of the business and understanding of objectives to successfully influence and partner with other groups around the company (legal, recruiting, builder relations) to advocate for employee needs. They are consistent in their approach and skilled at Earning Trust with internal customers and stakeholders by consulting with employees and managers to address root causes of issues and address employee and labor relations issues with a systematic approach. They coach managers of all levels to increase their capability as managers and as leaders. Key skills and abilities of ideal HRP candidates include coaching, consulting, facilitation, influencing, communication, analysis, Builder engagement, risk evaluation, empathy, problem solving, and high judgement.


May require a bachelor's degree in a related area and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.


Job Duties:

  • Conduct complex workplace investigations with significant autonomy.
  • Advocate for Builders’ needs through end-to-end experiences that help Builders feel fully engaged in the work they do and valued for who they are.
  • Actively promote adoption of technology and self-service.
  • Foster and role model an environment of inclusion for all Builders.
  • Support Builder queries and situations with discretion and expertise, navigating Amazon Policies and applying high judgement as necessary.
  • Collaborate and influence multiple levels of the organization, ranging from Builders, senior leaders, and other HR professionals.
  • Consult, coach, and develop leadership through decision making with empathy and high judgement; collaborating and actioning on talent management processes, people development and performance management, compensation, and employee relations issues.
  • Exercise high-judgement, manage through ambiguity and serve as first point of escalation for other HR teammates and Builder concerns.
  • Understand business goals as well as design and implement new approaches or procedures to effect continual improvements both in the business and on the HR team.
