Albemarle is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support the leaders and employees of our growing, global, Capital Projects organization. The HR Generalist will have responsibility for providing HR support to U.S. employees and managers, managing multiple projects, and lead initiatives to support the HR team including, but not limited to, data analytics, Objectives and Key Results (OKR’s), Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and Long-Range Planning (LRP) and other projects as assigned. This role reports to the HR Manager of Capital Projects.
Candidates must have formidable collaboration skills and be comfortable working with ambiguity in a fast paced, results oriented environment. The successful candidate will have the experience and presence to effectively handle multiple business demands and sensitive HR issues in a matrixed environment.
What You Will Do
Provide HR Generalist support to U.S. Capital Projects workforce:
  • Proactively consult with and advise US Capital Projects managers and employees on HR issues.
  • Ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees in compliance with all applicable laws and policies
  • Ensure HR work processes are performed in an efficient, effective manner
  • Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate personnel, training, and employee relations activities
  • Implement HR initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness
  • Ensure consistent application of site work rules and company policy and procedures
  • Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems
  • Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering policies and helping resolve work-related problems
  • Promote effective and regular communications with all levels of the organization
  • Provide HR advice based on company values, knowledge of business strategy, employee needs and HR best practices
Provide HR support to Capital Projects Human Resources team in areas such as:
  • Assist the HR team with the implementation of global initiatives. Some examples include but are not limited to the annual performance management cycle (Goal setting, OKR setting, talent planning, year-end reviews, and merit/bonus process). This includes the delivery or communications, timelines, and training as needed
  • Analyze HR metrics identifying key trends and the ability to recommend improvements
  • Support initiatives such as the Annual Employee Empowerment Survey, analyzing results, preparing presentations, and coordinating action plans
  • Works with corporate centers of excellence to drive HR initiatives
  • Create and provide management with appropriate metrics and reports for decision-making
  • Prepares reports, presentations, business communications, data summaries, and other documents of both a recurring and non-recurring nature. Performs moderately complex analyses of data to draw inferences or conclusions
  • Support the HR team in reviewing, updating and tracking of budget, HR Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and Long-Range Planning (LRP)
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned including communications, conducting meetings, tracking results, and reporting
Who You Are
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business administration or related field
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification a plus
  • Masters degree in Human Resources preferred
  • This position requires a candidate who is proactive, has deep interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • 3+ years of experience in HR generalist or specialist role
  • Must have keen experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), data analytics and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working on complex projects involving many stakeholders, ideally focused on HR related projects strongly preferred
  • Demonstrates the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with team members and internal customers at all levels in the organization
  • Capable of exercising independent discretion and judgment in support of various HR functions
