POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT


Moss’ HR Generalist will be responsible for a variety Human Resources activities and projects supporting employees and supervisors in Solar, at worksites and project locations across the U.S. This role is important to everyday operations, and will be a key champion of Moss values, ensuring a supported, diverse, and engaged workforce. As an important part of the HR Solar team, will be responsible for receiving, managing, and resolving workplace questions, issues, and concerns, while promoting positive employee relations, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies. Additionally, will help to create an environment to attract, develop, retain and engage talent throughout Solar to deliver business goals. This position requires working in-office weekly and some travel to worksites and other Moss locations.


Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities


  • Provide change management support to management and HRPBs
  • Assist with recruitment marketing, sourcing, and recruiting projects as needed
  • Support and coordinate offboarding and position elimination activities to ensure a seamless and thoughtful process for affected employees and non-affected managers and employees
  • Consult with management, HRBPs, Legal, Benefits, or other internal partners on leave of absence and job accommodation requests. Provide recommendations based on company policies and laws. Ensure appropriate documentation to support decision
  • Support the leadership team on ad hoc priority business projects
  • Serve as HR point of contact for field employees and supervisors
  • Partner with dedicated HRBP on issues that are highly complex or present significant risk to the business or company
  • Assist with annual performance review process, salary adjustments, and benefits open enrollment
  • Suggest proactive solutions to address employee and business needs.
  • Be an advocate for an inclusive work environment, and assist with team-building initiatives
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and other cross-functional teams
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Handle employee relations issues, grievances, investigations, disciplinary actions, and provide guidance to management on employee-related matters to maintain a harmonious and productive work environment. Work with employees and their managers to understand perspectives and to guide toward resolution of conflict or issues
  • Support and provide assistance to Solar team members on a wide range of HR/people processes throughout the employee lifecycle, including new hire onboarding, training, benefits, payroll, HRIS systems, leaves, etc. and coordinate resolution and/or escalation of all concerns


Education And Work Experience


  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience working with highly sensitive information
  • Ability to form productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including employees at all levels and external partners
  • Experience with Payroll, benefits, and/or open enrollment is preferred
  • Must be able to travel and work in the office in Fort Lauderdale, FL regularly
  • PHR certification is helpful, but not required
  • Previous experience as a HR Generalist, Employee Relations Specialist, or other related HR/People Operations role, ideally supporting a large population of hourly/non-exempt employees, ideally in craft labor and/or construction
  • Experience with HRIS systems, with experience in Workday a big plus
  • Seasoned and proven skills in managing difficult employee relations situations, conflict management, employment law, as well as broad knowledge of Human Resources in general
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Independent thinker with exceptional judgment on complex people issues
