Overview


Play a strategic role in the alignment of business objectives with employees and management. Develops partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added services to management that includes; recruitment, retention & separation, training & development, performance management, policy formation & management, and compliance with various Federal & State regulations, all within a complex Design, Development and Manufacturing business.


Responsibilities


  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees to reduce legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance: partners with Legal Department when necessary.
  • Identifies training needs for business units and individuals, participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success and follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues, addresses grievances and conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures and monitors and reports on workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Works with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention.
  • Develop and implement recruitment and selection strategies to include temporary staffing arrangements, job postings, external advertising, associate referrals, screening, interviewing, applicant tracking and reference checks.
  • Conducts regular meetings with respective business units.
  • Provides day to day performance management guidance to line management, including coaching, counseling, career development and disciplinary actions.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.


Qualifications


  • Project management skills
  • Excellent problem analysis and resolution
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fields
  • Will consider depth and seniority of human resources experience in lieu of college degree.
  • Affirmative Action experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications & HR systems (Ceridian/Dayforce is a plus)
  • Excellent judgment and discretion
  • Ability to coach, develop partnerships and build consensus.
  • Five (5) plus years of progressively responsible human resources experience, which includes background in recruiting, employee relations, benefits, and policy management.
  • Master’s degree a plus
