The Opportunity

This is a hybrid role- in office and partially WFH

As part of the Total Rewards team, this individual is responsible for managing a portfolio of employee benefits and HR policies. This role is largely responsible for managing ongoing relationships with underlying vendors, bringing forth recommendations for change based on utilization and benchmarking analysis and implementing approved changes. This role will also perform data analytics to more fully understand benefit election, utilization and cost patterns and trends. This role will interact with external vendor partners, internal resources (HR, Legal, IT, Risk, Sourcing, Finance) and groups of employees throughout the organization. This position requires an avid learner and hard worker with solid analytical skills, attention to detail and superior written and oral communication skills.

The Work Itself

  • Propose and provide content for benefit newsletter.
  • Recurring and ad hoc meetings with internal partners to collaborate and prioritize projects and assignments
  • Manage ERISA appeals
  • Provide guidance to HR Operations for escalations
  • Manage vendor contracting, assessments, reporting and performance
  • Manage ongoing relationship with underlying vendors to ensure proper administration and service levels
  • Proactively identify vendor programs that promote consumerism, improve value and/or contain cost
  • Stay abreast of applicable legislation and build/maintain plan to ensure compliance.
  • Recurring and ad hoc meetings with vendors and internal resources to manage portfolio and projects (combination of in-person and web/phone meetings)
  • Provide operational and administrative support for other benefit vendors, programs and initiatives as necessary.
  • Conduct Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) as appropriate
  • Manage a portfolio of benefits and policies
  • Conduct utilization and benchmarking analysis; recommend and implement changes as appropriate
  • Monitor/process related invoices and payments
  • Perform data analysis as needed Consolidate data from multiple sources and files.
  • Participate in or manage benefit-related projects independently and in conjunction with other team members
  • Create pivot tables to summarize data and identify key drivers. Track data over time to identify and monitor trends Leverage charts, graphs, SmartArt and other available Excel and PowerPoint functionality to share findings in a meaningful manner with various audiences

The Skills You Bring

  • Knowledge of benefit-related regulations and requirements including PPACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and balance multiple initiatives required
  • Bachelor's degree required; Preferred disciplines include Human Resources, Business Administration or related field Intermediate
  • Some management experience required
  • Superior professional verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to frame communications for intended audience including the ability to create concise, intuitive charts and visuals in Microsoft PowerPoint and facilitate group meetings in person and via web
  • 5+ years of experience in employee benefits or related field with significant exposure to and understanding of employee benefits.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills and attention to detail required
  • Excel skills including pivot tables, VLookups, formulas and analysis required
  • Strong collaboration, negotiation and problem resolution skills required General understanding of vendor contract management helpful
  • Ability to work autonomously required
