Overview


The HR Generalist I provides support for day-to-day operations as it relates to human resources, which includes employee relations, recruiting & on-boarding, benefit & leave administration, and payroll in accordance with company policy. The incumbent will play an important role in projects to drive continuous improvement of HR processes and employee experience. Assist with developing, promoting, and implementing events, trainings, programs, and initiatives that support our DEI goals and company values. A successful HR Generalist will build sustainable relationships with the employees and leaders within the organization.


Responsibilities


  • Provides continuous improvement of HR processes.
  • Provide support to Masonite’s Diversity Doorways affinity groups.
  • Assists in providing counseling and/or coaching to employees and management regarding employee relation matters and application of company policies, programs, and benefits.
  • Ability to work on-site, in office, to collaborate with business partners effectively.
  • Maintains high visibility to promote HR programs and assist management with effective team communication.
  • Reviews company policies to ensure they are consistent with our DEI goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with the administration of employee recognition programs.
  • Supports traditional HR areas of employee relations, benefits administration, compensation/merit administration, recruiting, employee on and off boarding, HR compliance, wellness programs and employee engagement activities.
  • Collates data for various projects as assigned.
  • Coordinates and/or facilitate employee and manager training on various topics such as DEI, benefit enrollment, onboarding, and/or compensation processes.
  • Assist with investigations and general proactive HR consultations.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities


  • Strong MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience creating reports from an HRIS strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Workday a plus.
  • Minimum 1 year of Human Resources experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities, facilitate projects and business processes and work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proven track record in working with metrics, collecting, and coordinating data and basic analyses.
  • Exposure to DEI practices and facilitating training is a plus.
  • Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills required.
  • Good judgment and ability to deal appropriately with sensitive and confidential information.


Qualifications


  • PHR certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology or Business Administration required
