Job Description
Voltera’s mission is to move the world closer to a zero-emissions future through tackling the toughest challenges associated with EV charging infrastructure. We site, build, and operate EV charging depots for commercial fleets across sectors ranging from delivery and distribution to autonomous vehicles and ride hailing. We're looking for innovative, people-first team members who understand that culture is critical to our ability to positively impact the world's transition toward clean energy and transportation.


We are looking for a People Operations Specialist with a keen eye for detail, a professional and empathetic approach to supporting team members, and a shared passion for our mission. This person will be a key member of the People Operations team and the primary internal point of contact for employees. The ideal candidate has experience across benefits, human resources, and project management and utilizes strong interpersonal skills to create and maintain connection company-wide.


WHAT YOU’LL DO:


  • Coordinate benefits administration including working with outside broker and carriers, reconciling invoices, and ensuring alignment with finance processes.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Provide day-to-day support to employees including answering general questions about benefits, use of HRIS platform, policies, and practices.
  • Build strong relationships at all levels in the organization and represent objective professionalism and customer focus of the People Ops function.
  • Manage day-to-day tasks in benefits administration, HRIS, electronic personnel files, and People Operations Intranet.
  • Ensure that all company policies, procedures, and other materials are up to date and aligned with current employment laws.
  • Coordinate candidate interview scheduling.
  • Perform projects from start to finish across a variety of initiatives.


MUST-HAVE:


  • Knowledge of human resources principles, policies, and practices.
  • 1-2 years of experience in human resources, including benefits and HRIS
  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management, Business, Psychology, or related.
  • Curiosity and openness to learn and develop.
  • Experience in fast-paced, high growth technology environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management and process improvement; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong people-first approach and ability to collaborate cross-functionally towards shared goals.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidential information.
  • Proficiency in HR technology platforms (HRIS, Application Tracking Systems).
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and make sound judgment calls when presented with difficult decisions, especially when only partial information is available.
  • Exceptional written and spoken communication skills to engage effectively with individual contributors, executive leadership, and everyone in between.


NICE-TO-HAVE:


  • Experience with payroll administration.
  • Experience implementing an HRIS.


LOCATION:


  • Hybrid office: 1-2 days per week in our Palo Alto, California area office.


Compensation ($75,000 - $97,000): Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Our total compensation package includes the base salary and competitive benefits.
