The ideal candidate:


On behalf of our client, we are looking for a National Sales Manager – for their Retail Division. The ideal candidate has a genuine passion for the food industry and experience in developing business opportunities with supermarket chains and food retailers. You are enthusiastic and possess a contagious energy that translates in wonderful interactions with customers and colleagues. You have a solid understanding of the food distribution sector and have experience selling both brand and private labels. You are comfortable working at any level of an organization. You enjoy traveling and face to face clients’ interactions.



Your skills and background:


  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of the USA food retail industry.
  • Experience managing Retail Accounts nationally and / or regionally is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a sales role in the retail or food distribution industry.
  • A problem-solving approach and a go-getter, goal-oriented approach.
  • BA in business administration or similar highly preferred
  • Expertise in overseeing a large territory, selling both direct and through distribution and brokers.



The role and the responsibilities:


The National Sales Manager will be responsible for the retail sales activities in the US. You will:


  • Identify new business opportunities.
  • Stay informed on the latest industry technologies, trends, etc. for best practices and potential implementation.
  • Lead sales growth, profitability, strategy, and execution for the assigned accounts or/and territory
  • Meet deadlines, work on budgets, and keep profitability.
  • Identify and develop sales targets through a well-though sales plan.
  • Proactively propose products/marketing improvement to the team
  • Report on sales forecasts, review sales statistics to determine customer needs and help develop sales campaigns to meet company’s goals.
  • Support the Private Label team to develop new business opportunities.
  • Coordinate, attend, and manage trade shows.
  • Retain and develop the current customer base for Branded Programs.
  • Follow the internal procedures related to credit risk approval, debt control, customer lead documentation on Company’s tools.
  • Lead the execution of all customer agreements/programs through strong teamwork and communication with customers, distributors, and brokers/partners.




Salary range: 110-130K base + bonus
