Director of Sales- Merchant Accounts

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Sales with a proven track record in selling solutions to small businesses. As the Director of Sales - Merchant Accounts, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, expanding our client base, and building and leading a motivated commission-based sales force. The ideal candidate is a passionate salesperson with existing connections in the small business community and a strong ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
Responsibilities:
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitors' activities to optimize sales strategies and remain competitive.
- Cultivate and leverage existing contacts and relationships within the small business community to drive business growth.
- Set clear sales performance expectations, regularly monitor performance, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Identify and capitalize on market opportunities to expand our customer base and increase market share.
- Recruit, train, motivate, and manage a commission-based sales team, providing guidance and support to ensure their success in meeting individual and team targets.
- Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, revenue, and other relevant KPIs to the executive team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer support, to align strategies and ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth objectives for merchant account solutions targeted towards small businesses.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the sales organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards success.
- Knowledge of payment processing and merchant account solutions is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in managing and leading a commission-based sales team.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- Proven track record of success in selling solutions to small businesses.
- Existing network and contacts within the small business community.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with clients and the sales team.
- Passionate about sales and entrepreneurship, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
