Job Description

Overview:

Humanscale is seeking a VP of Retail Sales to lead the global retail distribution strategy and manage a high-performance sales team across North America, EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regions. The VP of Retail Sales will target the premium work-from-home (WFH) segments of luxury residential end consumers and the designer / decorator trade. This person will establish a strong presence within the following channels (excluding Humanscale DTC ecommerce and B2C online marketplaces): Brick & Mortar Retail, Shop-in-Shop, Online Retailer, Multi-line Decorator Trade Showroom, Retail Operator.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop acquisition document and sales packages for the Retail Distribution Sales Team to promote during key market moments, in collaboration with the Director of Retail Channel Marketing.
  • Conduct a minimum number of interviews to maintain bench strength for your sales team.
  • Observe and participate in sales calls with all team members for sales development and coaching.
  • Assist in advancing the sales process for individual sales opportunities within your team.
  • Assess the existing customer journey and provide recommendations to enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Develop a seasonal sales & promotion strategy and build-out a calendar for sell-in and sell-out activities.
  • Assess the existing Humanscale product line and identify areas for enhancement to meet the expectations of both core consumers and luxury WFH customers.
  • H ir e , develop, and lead a global team of sales professionals to meet and exceed revenue, profitability, and product mix sales goals for Humanscale’s premium WFH solutions .
  • Suggest strategies to gather customer feedback and incorporate it into product improvements and service enhancements.
  • Develop and execute a distribution channel strategy that drives revenue while maximizing market reach and brand visibility.
  • Collaborate with Humanscale Brand Creative teams on retail guidelines, shop-in-shop concepts, and POS toolkits.
  • Champion efforts to develop a retail account-specific exclusive offer and “collab” editions in partnership with Humanscale Marketing.
  • Provide recommendations for leveraging and optimizing the new Kvadrat textiles partnership.
  • Collaborate on a harmonized MSRP / MAP strategy with other sales channel leaders.
  • Assess the current Humanscale distribution channels and evaluate their suitability for reaching the identified global target markets.
  • Identify potential partnerships and collaborations with high-end furniture retailers, interior designers, and online marketplaces that cater to the luxury segment.
  • Drive the relevant trade fair and market activities in key regions in collaboration with the Director of Channel Marketing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional sales leaders across all geographies and sales channels to maximize Humanscale’s brand presence, customer experience, and growth potential.
  • Assess sales probability and forecast revenue expectations.
  • Identify retail partners for shop-in-shop and retail pop-up opportunities that drive revenue and brand visibility.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree required , preferably in Business, Marketing , or related field. MBA is a plus .
  • Ability to travel globally and work a flexible schedule to manage an internal team in various time zones is required.
  • Ability to serve as an effective brand ambassador who can fully articulate Humanscale’s value.
  • Experience in home furnishings a plus and an understanding of Luxury Clients/Markets and retail dynamics are essential.
  • 10+ years’ global sales leadership experience required .
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to lead by influence are required.
  • Effective sales presentation skills with the ability to articulate premium design are required.

Salary Range: $152,610.86 - $224,057.95

In addition to the base salary, this position also has a variable compensation component. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline. Humanscale considers other factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market location and business considerations when extending an offer
