Job Description
Our Mission and Opportunity

Early education is one of the greatest determinants of childhood outcomes, is a must for working families, and has a lasting social and economic impact. Brightwheel’s vision is to enable high quality early education for every child — by giving teachers meaningfully more time with students each day, engaging parents in the development of their kids, and supporting the small businesses that make up the backbone of the $175 billion early education market. Brightwheel is the most loved technology brand in early education globally, trusted by thousands of educators and millions of families.

Our Team

We are a fully remote team with employees across every time zone in the US. Our team is passionate, talented, and customer-focused. Our exceptional investor group includes Addition, Bessemer Venture Partners, Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, GGV Capital, Lowercase Capital, Emerson Collective, and Mark Cuban.

We believe that everyone—from our employees to the students, teachers, and administrators we serve— should be given the opportunity to learn and thrive, whatever their background may be. We celebrate diversity in all forms because it allows our team and the communities we serve to reach their full potential and do their best work.

Who You Are

brightwheel is seeking an experienced Strategic Accounts Manager to join our Customer Success Team. In this role, you will manage relationships with our key Government state contracts, ensuring their objectives and expectations are met and exceeded.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as a “voice of the customer,” conveying their needs and feedback to our Product and Engineering teams to drive continuous improvement of our platform
  • Become a key resource on the brightwheel platform, training and guiding government clients to use our solution effectively, and providing insights and troubleshooting on complex issues
  • Collaborate with our sales and customer success teams to identify opportunities for contract expansion, renewal, and upselling
  • Set and manage expectations with clients and internal stakeholders, maintaining a clear and consistent line of communication
  • Be prepared for up to 20% travel to meet with key clients and stakeholders as needed
  • Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders in our government state contracts
  • Provide strategic insights to our product and engineering teams, leveraging customer feedback and your understanding of government contracts to enhance our platform
Qualifications, Skills, & Abilities

  • 1-2 years of proven experience in managing and developing government strategic accounts
  • A proactive problem solver with excellent negotiation skills
  • Proven track record of achieving challenging goals
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A deep understanding of the sales process, with a focus on government entities
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field. An advanced degree would be a plus
  • A strong ability to present and demonstrate product offerings to clients
  • 3+ years of Account Management experience
Brightwheel is committed to internal pay equity and offers a competitive compensation package, including base salary, equity, and benefits. Our benefits package includes premium medical, dental, and vision benefits, generous paid parental leave, a flexible paid time off policy, a monthly wellness and productivity stipend, and a Learning & Development stipend.

For cash compensation, brightwheel sets standard ranges for all roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies.

In addition to equity, our annual cash compensation for this role in all US-based locations is $90,000 with an additional variable of $30,000 for On-Target Earnings of $120,000.
