Merchant Compliance Analyst Jobs

Toast is looking for a Merchant Compliance Analyst who is responsible for reviewing customer accounts identified with potential card brand violations, engaging in customer outreach, and helping to develop the future of Toast’s Merchant Compliance program. They will be the front line in defending against card brand, Toast, and processor agreement rule violations and will be expected to provide high-quality operational feedback to the Fraud and Risk Team and other stakeholders in order to improve Toast’s overall merchant compliance program.

About this roll* (Responsibilities)

• Monitor queues of customers with possible violations, rule out false positives, and determine when a case needs to be escalated to the manager
• Serve as an escalation point for Customer Success
• Conduct basic investigations of cases requiring extra attention
• Assist in monthly metric reporting
• Become an expert when it comes to Toast’s merchant compliance programs
• Suggest and implement improvements to existing procedures and methodology
• Provide feedback to Data Analyst on data sets and rules
• Deliver a best-in-class, truly delightful experience to Toast restaurants and prospects through successful communication (both written and verbal)

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

• Customer-focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills - previous experience speaking with merchants/customers over the phone would set this candidate apart
• An inquisitive nature, someone who wants to explore variances, and understand root causes
• 0-2 years experience; new graduates with a passion for customer service, investigations, and data should apply
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, changing environment, and to adapt while focusing on key goals and objectives with minimal oversight
• Must be highly motivated and able to work within tight deadlines

• Previous experience working in payments and or compliance related role - not required, but a major plus

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.

Pay Range

$54,000—$86,000 USD
