WESTERN & SOUTHERN OPEN
Legends recently entered into a multi-faceted long-term partnership with one of the most prestigious men’s and women’s tennis tournaments in the world – the Western and Southern Open. The Western & Southern Open, held annually in Cincinnati, Ohio, features an ATP Masters 1000 and a WTA 1000 tournament in the same week at the same venue, making it one of only five events worldwide to host concurrent top tier tour tournaments along with Indian Wells, Calif., Madrid, Miami and Rome. In addition to featuring the world’s top players, the tournament is building on its nearly 125-year history with its recent acquisition by Beemok Capital. Under this new ownership, the Western & Southern Open is entering into a transformational chapter with a renewed commitment to enhance the facility and provide a world class experience for both players and fans. The tournament is poised for exciting growth and opportunity as the event will double in size, both in terms of player field and calendar days, in 2025.
THE ROLE
The Vice President of Partnerships (Western & Southern Open) is responsible for driving new business partnerships globally while leading the overall engagement between the Western/Southern Open and Legends Global Partnerships. The individual will connect directly with key decision-makers on a regular basis to secure corporate marketing and digital media partnerships with companies wishing to maximize their relationships with sports and entertainment platforms. Tasked with generating partnership revenue for the Western/Southern Open, the role will continue to grow in scope and oversight as the Western/Southern Open and Legends mature together and expand outside of North America. In this role the Vice President of Partnership will also engage regularly with the Legends Global Partnership team across the portfolio to drive overall success for the division. The Vice President of Partnerships (Western & Southern Open) will report to the President of Global Partnerships.

Essential Functions
- Take an active role in the key category development and platform ideation for the Western/Southern Open
- Manage the overall business relationship between Western/Southern Open and Legends Global Partnerships
- Ability to develop strong peer-level relationships and work in a team environment and contribute to the general success of Legends across all facets, including positively representing Legends among all potential and existing clients
- Attend weekly meetings with senior-level executives and provide routine sales updates
- International outlook and ability to work with diverse cultures
- Lead Western/Southern Open new business sales efforts for partnerships globally
- Serve as a key member of the Legends Global Partnerships executive team
- Build and manage a collaborative relationship between the Legends team and Western/Southern Open’s revenue team
- Secure meetings with potential new business decision makers to identify how Legends can partner in their success through solution-based partnerships
- Ability to quickly earn and maintain trust
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers of potential new business
- Generate leads, drive revenue, lead contract negotiations, and work with property leaders and stakeholders both internally and externally
- Leverage network, relationships, and cold outreach to identify potential new business
- Become the trusted partner and advisor to Western/Southern Open Chief Revenue Officer
- Identify industries and organizations to grow Legends’s business

- Degree in Business, Management, Sales or Marketing, required
- High-level contacts at large and midsize corporations, particularly companies with partnership portfolio
- Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities with excellent communication skills
- Seven (7) plus years of high-level partnership sales experience
- Knowledge of partnership programs, including content development and distribution for radio, television, websites, plus digital and social media
- Three (3) plus years of management experience with a demonstrated ability to effectively lead a sales team, including developing sales strategies, managing performance, incorporating ongoing education, and providing measurable results
