How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Division Vice President of Operations for the Central Division (CDIV) will be responsible for identifying, implementing plans, and leading operational and distribution improvements across the CDIV in close partnership with the Region leadership.

• Promote collaboration and sharing of best practices across the regions throughout Central Division and other regions and business units within Airgas.
• Drive Customer Effort Scores through improvements in production and distribution which include on-time deliveries and fulfillment.
• Utilize KPIs and tools to help drive continuous improvement in plant and branch operations. Assist the Region operational leadership to understand how to utilize these metrics to drive improvement.
• Drive innovative processes that will bring increased levels of value to customers.
• Utilize KPI’s and tools to identify and drive plant and branch production and distribution efficiency initiatives in collaboration with the regional operations. This includes identifying and driving location-specific solutions as well as enterprise-wide solutions. These solutions for operational efficiencies will be related to production and distribution in both our plants and branches.
• Implement company-wide, division, and region strategies and specific objectives to support the safe, effective and efficient operation of our plants and branches throughout our distribution business.
• Act as a point of contact for cross-regional and company-wide initiatives and projects impacting our plant and/or branch operations.
• Assist the Division/Region leadership with organizational structure, workforce planning, and succession planning across the division. Work in partnership with the regions and HR to drive programs to improve internal and external development of talent within the Operations function throughout Airgas
• Assist regions with recommendations for most efficient use of assets.

Are you a MATCH?

Required Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, engineering or related field. In lieu of degree, consideration for up to 10 years of additional related experience may be accepted.

Required Length & Type of Experience:

• 5 years of experience in the implementation of distribution optimization systems including Paragon.
• A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in an operations management position in an industrial distribution environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Experience tracking and monitoring key performance indicators as well as identifying key areas to improve those KPI’s.
• Knowledge of Lean tools (VSM, 5S, Kanban, Kaizen, KPI’s, JIT) systems and principles preferred.
• Must have 10+ years of operational excellence/management experience.
• Must have excellent collaborative skills.
• Experience developing and managing projects.
• Must be able to manage by influence.
• Full understanding of the capabilities of Paragon or other Distribution software and a proven track record of successful implementation.
• Demonstrated ability to promote a Continuous Improvement Culture.
