We are a dynamic organization seeking a dedicated Technical Support Specialist to join our team. As a Technical Support Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining our office technology environment, ensuring smooth operations for our staff and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
Technology Maintenance: You will oversee all aspects of our office technology environment, including configuring PCs, laptops, tablets, and phones, managing business-related applications, and ensuring network, internet, and cloud connectivity.
Collaborative Problem Solving: Work closely with our main office and academy professionals to identify technical issues and provide cost-effective solutions, fostering a collaborative and proactive approach.
Help Desk Support: Provide hands-on help desk support within a Microsoft Office 365 environment for our West Hempstead school and offer remote assistance to all offices as required.
Data Integrity and Security: Maintain data integrity, security, and accessibility for both on-site and remote users, prioritizing their productivity and peace of mind.
First Point of Contact: Act as the primary point of contact for all technical support issues, offering expert guidance and assistance for both hardware and software applications across the entire Gersh user community.
User Account Management: Handle all add/move/change requests for user accounts, including system, VPN, email, phone, and business applications, ensuring seamless user experiences.
Proactive Improvements: Identify opportunities for proactive improvements in technology tools and services, contributing to the enhancement of our operational efficiency.
Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as required, showcasing your adaptability and dedication to our organization.
Highly Desirable Skills And Experience
Certifications: A+ and/or Network+, CCNA certification, or similar technological certifications are highly valued.
Academic Experience: Experience in an academic and/or school administration environment is a strong asset.
Application Proficiency: Familiarity with the administration of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, QuickBooks, FileMaker, Focus, Azure, Cisco, and Meraki firewalls is a plus.
Office 365 Expertise: Experience with Office 365 admin center (OAC), Exchange admin center (EAC), and PowerShell scripting is advantageous.
Requirements
Required Education, Skills, and Knowledge:
Educational Qualifications: An associate's degree or equivalent, combined with 2 years of experience supporting a busy office environment, or relevant certifications and three years of applied working experience. Certifications and experience can be substituted for formal training.
Technical Competence: Proficiency in personal computing, both MAC and Windows PC/Workstation-based LAN systems, basic TCP/IP protocols, and infrastructure management tools.
Microsoft Proficiency: Experience in supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Network Operating Systems, including Active Directory and Group Policy, and the Office 365 Suite.
Wireless Technology: An understanding of wireless technology (internet/cellular), encryption software, hardware, software, and applications.
Effective Communication: Excellent communication skills, analytical ability, decisiveness, good judgment, and the ability to work effectively with clients, staff, and vendors.
Technical Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical users.
Multitasking: Experience supporting multiple initiatives simultaneously and prioritizing work to meet or exceed established service levels.
Problem Solving: Wide-ranging technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, effective communication and listening skills, patience, and diplomacy.
