Role Summary
As a key member of our team, you will take on a crucial role in the Finance Operations department, overseeing various financial processes to ensure the smooth and efficient management of our operations. You'll be responsible for supervising daily finance activities, optimizing cash flow, and maintaining impeccable financial records. Your role will also involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, contributing to process enhancements, and supporting company-wide initiatives.
Responsibilities
Finance Operations Leadership:
Lead and guide the daily activities of the finance operations team, ensuring the safekeeping of bank accounts and the timely processing of payments.
Oversee customer underwriting, collections, and risk management processes, driving excellence in these areas.
Manage cash flow, including monitoring the daily borrowing base, funding needs, credit facility reporting, and cash forecasting.
Month-End Excellence
Play a pivotal role in the monthly close process, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions in adherence to GAAP and Company policies.
Handle diverse tasks such as posting receivable and payable batches, maintaining schedules for prepaid and accrued expenses, revenue and expense recognition, software capitalization, and more.
Conduct meticulous general ledger account reconciliations, maintain comprehensive supporting workpapers, and review financial results for precision.
Effective Expense Management
Ensure timely payment of invoices and collaborate with various departments to monitor budgets and control costs effectively.
Oversee the administration of employee expense reports and credit cards, promoting transparency and accuracy.
Regularly review spending patterns to identify and eliminate unnecessary expenses.
Payroll And Compliance
Collaborate with our PEO to manage and process payroll for US operations, including quarterly bonus distributions.
Coordinate information and collaborate with vendors to ensure compliance and accuracy in overseas payroll operations.
Audit, Tax, And Controls
Prepare GAAP financial statements and audit schedules for external auditors and banks during interim and annual procedures.
Serve as the primary contact for audit inquiries and tax return preparation, managing relationships with service providers.
Develop, implement, and uphold effective financial policies, procedures, and controls, proactively addressing financial risks.
Process Improvement Champion
Apply critical thinking to evaluate and enhance processes related to finance operations, accounting, and financial reporting.
Drive automation, efficiency, accuracy, and other improvements to elevate overall effectiveness.
Additional Contributions
Fulfill other assigned duties, which may encompass tasks related to company valuation, share-based compensation, mergers and acquisitions, ad hoc reporting, and special projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, complemented by a successful completion of all sections of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the accounting profession, including previous supervisory roles. A background in public accounting is preferred, and familiarity with general ledger practices, especially QuickBooks Online, is advantageous.
In-depth comprehension of accounting principles, revenue recognition, and corporate finance concepts, coupled with a proven ability to apply them practically.
Proficiency in advanced Excel and Google spreadsheet skills is a necessity.
Meticulous attention to detail, combined with strong analytical capabilities.
Adaptability to change, coupled with effective prioritization and goal management within a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
Capability to thrive in a small team environment, demonstrating independent high-level contributions while effectively managing others.
Excellent interpersonal skills and clear, concise communication abilities in both written and verbal formats.
