Role Overview

Site HR Partner – Deer Park, Texas

Solvay is in the midst of a comprehensive transformation for its culture, vision and how it conducts business, and how its support functions, including HR, provide service to those businesses. The HR functions’ People Engagement Journey (PEJ) approach ensures a culture that has four guiding principles: 1) leader-led, 2) transformational, 3) value-driven, and 4) purposeful. The Site HR Partner roles are key to this as members of the North American "Connect" team.

Site HR Partners will deliver new systems and programs for our customers and HR to use, and ensure consistency and compliance in HR through intimate connections to Solvay’s people, businesses, and functions at a local level.

This position will support several sites in the US. The primary location and the base of the position will be our Peroxides plant in Deer Park, TX. This position will remotely support a small Peroxides plant in Longview, Washington, a small administrative site in Houston, Texas, and a small administrative site in Princeton, New Jersey.

Duties include:

• Support Global People Solutions project work on an as-needed basis.
• Support employees (including leaders) in Moments that Matter - both professional (career & development) and personal development. The covered population of employees exceeds 300.
• Partner with Site Leadership and Managers to advise on people topics (talent, organization, performance, development) and initiatives.
• Direct communication channel to Strategic Business Partners.

Education And Experience

• Experience in employee relations at the site level.
• 3+ years of experience in an HR-related role supporting industrial and administrative sites
• Experience in the administration of HR policies and programs (e.g., performance management, compensation, benefits, etc.)
• Experience managing changing priorities at local and remote sites
• Degree in Human Resources Management or related business field or relevant experience.

Skills

• Prior experience with organizational change, such as new approaches to HR, leadership, and people and functional resources deployment
• Additional - must have an openness to learning and understanding Solvay’s innovative people-centric programs. Innovation and open-mindedness.
• Knowledge and experience with legal and ethical compliance
• Effective consulting and coaching skills
• Knowledge of labor laws
• Knowledge of employment laws
• Strong communication, interpersonal and influence skills
• Ability to relate well to all levels of employees, such as executives, managers, individual contributors, and especially blue-collar hourly employees
• Human Resources disciplines, e.g., management and employee coaching and counseling, compensation, benefits, performance management, discipline, learning, and recruitment.
