Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Project Manager for the Department of Medicine within the Center for Tobacco Studies. Under the direction of the Center Director, the Research Project Manager plays a key role in the Center for Rapid Surveillance of Tobacco ( CRST ) center grant, developing and overseeing the research activities associated with multiple projects and partners, intended to inform FDA tobacco product regulation. Also, serves as a focal point for rapid tobacco surveillance.

Among the key duties of this position are the following;

• Implements project plans, track CRST tasks and deliverables, resolves and escalates project issues in a timely fashion.
• Conducts regular meetings, web-conferences, and conference calls among CRST Partners.
• Develops and oversees data management systems for primary and secondary data.
• Serves as the primary liaison between the Rutgers CRST and other federal and academic partners.
• Works with faculty in producing manuscripts, presentations, reports and updates for the CRST based on these primary and secondary data.
• Establishes and maintains a CRST Team site for utilization by internal partners to facilitate project communication and coordination.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

• Applicants lacking the required degree may substitute the appropriate experience on a year for-year basis.
• Ph.D. or Master’s degree plus three (3) years of experience with population research.
• Experience in the management of large, complex projects involving multiple institutions and stakeholders.

Certifications/Licenses

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Working knowledge of tobacco control.
• Database skills in Excel or ACCESS .

Preferred Qualifications

• Statistical experience in SAS , SPSS , or Stata.
• Experience with data management systems such as Qualtrics.
• Knowledge of University research office procedures and processes.
• Experience with retail market scanner data.

• Must be able to lift or exert force up to 25 pounds.
