Posting Summary


Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Project Coordinator I for the School of Engineering.


Among the key duties of the position are the following:


  • Focuses on processes using elevated pressures and temperatures in a continuous reactor.
  • Specifies, designs, builds and tests the reactor until the design specifications are met.
  • Sets up labs. There are projects that require the design and setup of a new laboratory to make products.
  • Writes reports. and trains students on processing equipment as well as characterization instrumentation.
  • Makes samples by powder processing methods make measurements. The samples produced will have measurements with respect to physical and chemical methods build instruments.
  • Organizes laboratory and manage safety training.
  • Coordinates and conducts professional level experiments and research.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering and laboratory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Requires two years of relevant experience.


Certifications/Licenses


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge in Powder processing, shape forming, materials characterization, computer programming, sensors, finishing operations.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Physics, chemistry, or materials science and engineering.


Equipment Utilized
  • X-ray diffraction, microscopes, strength measurements


Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Able to handle raw materials, samples, and instruments safely. Always read SDS sheets before using any chemical or processing that uses chemicals. Always wear personal protective gear.
