Human Resources Developer 12 (A):
This position serves as a leadership trainer/developer responsible for leadership training and development for all levels of staff. This position is a recognized resource responsible for implementation of job functional training for new foster care supervisors, and for ongoing in-service training for all child welfare supervisors. This position will also be responsible for engaging in analysis, design, development, and evaluation activities related to leadership training and development for both first line staff and management. The responsibilities of an HRD 12 involves all the functions outlined for that of an HRD 9-11, in addition to overseeing work assignments in far greater complexity than others assigned at this level. These duties require individuals to plan and implement comprehensive training sessions, seminars, and collaborate with public and private sectors beyond the realm of an individual serving in the HRD 9-11 position. This senior level developer possesses extensive knowledge as it relates to the foster care program and leadership development. This individual utilizes extensive self-sufficient functioning skills, organizational skills and the ability to effectively interact with others. Human Resources Developer 9-P11 (E):
This position serves as a child welfare and leadership trainer/developer responsible for child welfare supervisor training for new foster care supervisors as well as leadership training and development for all levels of staff. This position is responsible for implementation of job functional training as well as engaging in analysis, design, development, and evaluation activities related to leadership development training for both first line staff and management. This entry level trainer/developer possesses knowledge as it relates to the foster care program and leadership development. This individual utilizes self-sufficient functioning skills, organizational skills and the ability to effectively interact with others. No specific type or amount is required.

Human Resource Developer 10
One year of professional experience in planning, developing, conducting, or evaluating staff development, training, or other programs equivalent to a Human Resources Developer.

Human Resource Developer P11
Two years of professional experience in planning, developing, conducting, or evaluating staff development, training, or other programs equivalent to a Human Resources Developer, including one year equivalent to a Human Resources Developer 10.

Human Resources Developer 12
Three years of professional experience in planning, developing, conducting, or evaluating staff development, training, or other programs equivalent to a Human Resources Developer, including one year equivalent to a Human Resources Developer P11.


SPR: At least two years of satisfactorily experience in CPS, Foster Care, Prevention, Adoption, or Delinquency as a worker
or Supervisor.

Preferred:
  • One year of DHHS training experience, or
  • Two years of analytical or systems experience.
  • One year of DHHS supervisory experience, or

Additional Requirements and Information

This position will work remotely. Travel to the office located at Cadillac Place Detroit, MI and Lansing Training Center, Lansing, MI, as well as various worksites throughout the state will be required.
Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview


Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:
  • Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
  • A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
  • A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.

Vacation and Sick Leave: Eligible full-time employees receive between 15 and 35 personal days and 13 sick days per year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.

Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leave immediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.

Paid Holidays: Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year’s Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.

Student Loan Forgiveness: Working for the State of Michigan may allow you to participate in programs that forgive the balance of qualifying student loans. Information to help determine if you could qualify is available from the U.S. Department of Education.

Tuition Reduction: Some colleges and universities offer savings to eligible employees and family members to further their education while working for the State of Michigan.

Professional Development: To help develop your career, programs are available to apply for reimbursement of up to $2,000 a year for education and training for college course credits and non-degree programs.
