The HR Compliance Auditing Analyst is responsible for the development and implementation of internal auditing programs to ensure Panera’s policies and practices are in compliance with federal, state, and local obligations related to multi-jurisdictional employment-related and human resources matters. When problem areas are identified, the HR Compliance Auditing Analyst will work with impacted teams to find and implement suitable corrective action.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in developing communications related to compliance change efforts.
- Analyze new and existing policies and procedures to determine potential risks in company practices to avoid compliance issues.
- Work with both internal and external sources to ensure Panera’s compliance with employment related regulations across all business units.
- Compile reports on results of internal audits and present reports to relevant leaders.
- Track reported violations and the responses and plans regarding allegations.
- Monitor industry news; network with other organizations to stay abreast of regulatory and legal requirements for employment related regulations, benefit plan offerings, vendor contracts and mandated communications.
- Develop internal audit plans focused on compliance with employment-related regulations and policies.
- Conduct, manage, and oversee internal audits.
- Assist in developing and maintaining documentation of regulatory compliance processes; identify and guide the execution of process improvements.
- Recommend changes to address non-compliant procedures and practices.
- Assist in implementation of changes to address non-compliant procedures and practices.
Qualifications (Education & Experience)
- Experience
- Advanced experience in Microsoft Office tools, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Abilities
- Verbal and non-verbal reasoning
- Education
- CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) – plus
- Experience with researching, reading and interpreting legislative and legal documents, state and local laws and regulations, related federal regulations and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Detail and deadline oriented, with strong problem solving, critical thinking and organizational skills.
- Specialized knowledge
- Experience analyzing a wide variety of data (both numerical and verbal) and providing key summary information for leadership to guide program development and funding decisions.
- Multiple years direct experience in multi-jurisdictional HR compliance relative to compensation, employee health & welfare benefits, and/or employment regulations.
- Professional Certification
- In-depth knowledge and experience with multijurisdictional HR Compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Paralegal Studies, Finance or a related field is preferred.
- Strong communication (written and verbal)

- Ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal and external contacts.
Working Conditions
- Required travel – limited, occasional travel to St Louis or Boston office.
- General office environment with potential to work remotely.
Physical Requirements
- While performing this job, the incumbent is regularly required to stand, sit, talk hear & use hands and fingers to operate keyboards.
