Meet The Team

A successful Director, Product Technical Program Management will lead an organization of product development team leaders – R&D Program Leads and Core Program Team Leads. They will need to be regarded by their peers and company executives as a motivating and engaging leader for team members from multiple functional backgrounds regardless of the reporting relationships, be an established strong communicator, and have a track record of making sound decisions and asking tough questions. The director will be a strong functional manager with excellent skills in goal-setting, managing performance and developing/growing their team members.

Where You Come In

• You will create a cohesive and collaborative team culture, addressing conflict promptly, ensuring mutual accountability, removing organizational barriers, and facilitating strong communication and trust.
• You will provide leadership for cross-functional core team leaders driving product development programs from concept to FDA filing and commercialization. Products are complex and cross-disciplinary including software (mobile application, web-based applications, cloud data) and hardware (mechanical, electrical, firmware, electrochemistry, algorithm) components requiring feasibility, development, integration, verification and validation.
• Your team will regularly communicate strategy, recommendations, and program updates to functional and executive leadership, driving management decisions where needed.
• You will manage your direct reports, including hiring, employee performance management and budget management.
• Your team will define the program scope and gain cross-functional alignment to deliver business-critical programs to the market in collaboration with marketing team and senior/executive leaders.
• Your team will develop and execute against appropriate schedules, budgets, and resource plans, as well as assess risk and implement effective mitigation strategies.

What Makes You Successful

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical and business information clearly and effectively through informal and formal documents, reports, and presentations.
• Experience working in the Medical Device industry as well as knowledge of the industry practices, techniques, and standards including a proven ability to both understand and work effectively within a Quality System that is compliant with FDA regulations related to Design Control.
• Demonstrated successful leadership of a complex multi-year flagship program with strong technical, cross-functional and business elements while integrating multiple new technologies into the product.
• Strong ability to develop and manage positive and productive relationships across the company at all levels.
• Experience with both stage-gate based product development frameworks and software development principles including agile frameworks (Agile Scrum, Kanban, Lean, SAFe, DevOps, etc.).
• Experience managing stakeholders: working effectively to drive critical program decisions and resolve competing stakeholder interests.

Experience And Education

• Typically requires a Bachelors degree with 15+ years of industry experience.
• 9+ years of successful management experience in relevant industry.

Exempt Salary Details

• The annual base salary range for this role is $172,400 to $287,300. Final compensation package will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, business needs and market demand.
