The Product Manager is responsible for product planning and marketing throughout the Product Lifecycle. Main responsibilities include gathering and prioritizing product and customer needs; defining product visions that are consistent with the company’s strategic goals; working closely with Project Management to develop new products; working with Sales and Marketing to launch products and perform post-release market surveillance to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Identify competitor activities and develop strategies to address them
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of the product market
  • Coordinate the development of marketing tools and activities (e.g. brochures, training materials, slide decks, internet sites and other e-media, branding guidelines, posters, promotions, and stand-alone meetings)
  • Define the strategy and roadmap for existing as well as new products
  • Develop relationships with key Opinion Leaders and Industry Experts
  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
  • Develop and execute strategic launch plans for updates to existing products and new products
  • Visit customer accounts and conduct well organized product presentations
  • Provide reports to management that may include business plans and sales forecasts for specific products
  • Identify market opportunities for existing as well as new products
  • Attend conventions, tradeshows, sales meetings and training programs
  • Develop the core positioning and messaging for specific products
  • Work closely with Project Management to deliver products that meet market needs
  • Coordinate White Papers and studies pertaining to product behavior and performance


Qualifications


Education/Experience


  • Bachelor degree in Business or Life Sciences field and 2+ years experience as Product Manager preferred
  • Strong understanding of the Product Lifecycle required
  • Previous experience in the medical device or medical products industry required
  • Prior experience with diagnostics reagents or instrumentation required
  • Bachelor degree in Business or Life Sciences field and 4+ years experience in Product and/or Project Management required


Computer Skills


  • Must be willing and able to learn other software programs as needed
  • Proficient in PowerPoint or other presentation software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook


Knowledge, Skills And Other Abilities


  • Ability to clearly communicate technical information with customers and co-workers
  • Effective communication and analytical skills required
  • Demonstrated experience in product positioning, branding and translation of science into marketing messages
  • Technical knowledge of medical devices and reagents
  • Ability to meet and exceed goals
  • Knowledge of FDA and ISO Quality System Regulations (cGMP) pertaining to medical devices
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong planning and organization skills
  • Ability to travel for periods of up to one week
  • Exceptional customer service & strong sense of professionalism
  • Ability to learn new & existing instrumentation and technology as needed
  • Must be able and willing to adhere to corporation personnel policies and practices, including attendance and punctuality requirements
