Job Description
Product Managers serve as the voice of the customer to guide development teams in building software capabilities with the highest business and customer impact. They represent business needs and priorities, prioritize, and manage the product backlog, and incorporate feedback from business stakeholders to guide continuous product improvement.


Responsibilities


  • Prioritize and maintain the product backlog.
  • Assist the team on the development of feature tests, test cases, and regression tests.
  • Work with business and technical stakeholders to develop and document user stories.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, story refinements, and team retrospectives; ensure the team understands priorities and next steps.
  • Work with the development team to create acceptance criteria and definitions of failures and done.
  • Participate in sprint planning to determine the team’s objectives for the upcoming sprint.
  • Act as the voice of the customer to guide all stages of software development, including user story development, sprint planning, and prioritization of the product backlog.
  • Understand business and end-user needs; identify and prioritize features to be delivered to meet those needs.
  • Lead the sprint review meeting to present the output from the sprint to key stakeholders.
  • Analyze feedback from sprint reviews, and other data such as end user feedback and operational metrics, to identify and understand product needs.
  • Work with technical leadership and business stakeholders to refine and articulate future capabilities, features, and functionalities, including supporting new technology investments.


Qualifications


  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of agile planning tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) preferred.
  • Thrives working in a fast-paced environment with competing high priorities.
  • High-energy and fast learner that is flexible and able to manage requirements across multiple releases and teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent years of experience).
  • Demonstrated ability to condense complex technical information and present to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and closely with others as the project's needs dictate.
  • Product owner certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner, Scaled Agile Framework) a plus.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience; product owner role preferred.
  • Demonstrated facilitation and influencing skills to drive decision making among stakeholders with diverse perspectives and priorities.
  • Ability to understand complex business problems and identify and interpret business needs.
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
  • Strong business communication skills, both written and verbal, targeting audiences at many levels in the organization.
  • Background in hospitality and lodging is strongly preferred.


Required Education


  • Bachelor’s degree in fields related to business management, hospitality or computer science or equivalent experience.


The hiring range for this position in California is $112,586.00-$151,030.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
