Job Description

Position:Program Support Specialist

Location: Hybrid role//Orange, CA 92868/come into office 2 days a week (set days Wednesday/Thursday) Remote other day of week.

Duration:5 MonthsContract (Possibility Extension)


Job description:

Primary Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Tracks down missing checks and 835’s from PBMs
  • Confirms customers have entered banking information and monitors banking status on website.
  • Updates pharmacy customers’ account records and collection efforts
  • Processes refunds for PBMs, funds on Hold and serves as back up for daily funds release.
  • Confirms and loads pharmacy customer information and holds on funds into the Central Pay website.
  • Coordinates the complete Central Pay Services implementation for pharmacy customer enrollment or dis-enrollment in Elevate Provider Network.
  • Completes special projects as assigned.
  • Provides assistance for pharmacy customers with questions and issues including accounting/reconciliation issues/funds on hold/debts.
  • Locate and contact customers regarding outstanding debts.
  • Serves as escalation point for Central Pay issues.
  • Serves as liaison with Reconciliation Vendors and FDS payment processor.
  • Monitors accounts to identify outstanding debts
  • Documents processes and procedures.
  • Provides assistance to customers Central Pay website issues.
  • Performs related duties as required.
  • Serves as contact person for Central Pay vendor partners and Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs).

Experience and educational requirements:

  • Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, finance/economics, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; Experience in retail pharmacy support, including knowledge in dealing with PBM claims processing, payment processing and reconciliation, preferred.

Minimum skills, knowledge and ability requirements:

  • Ability to work under pressure to balance competing priorities and to meet time sensitive deadlines
  • Strong computer skills necessary to operate effectively with company systems and programs
  • Pharmacy Benefit Management or PSAO background, preferably with pharmacy reconciliation experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; interacts with all levels of associates and management within and outside the organization.
  • Knowledge of products, programs and services preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong navigation of multiple systems and the consolidation of data from various sources
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret complex material into easily understood analysis
  • Excellent customer service management skills
  • Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and/or statistical business intelligence software (e.g., Micro Strategy) is required.
  • Contract document management (WORD, POWERPOINT) and financial analytical skills (EXCEL) required.
  • Familiarity with NCPDP field formats and Payor contract retail pharmacy reimbursement terms
  • Must have experience with extracting data from Salesforce or similar.
