ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Vice President of HR/People who will serve on the leadership team, reporting to the COO, and will champion organizational development across Extend. This is a unique opportunity as you will play a pivotal role in defining and implementing our People strategy to help set HR best practices and policies, aligning with Extend’s vision and values. We’re at an exciting inflection point where we’ve built the foundation of the people function and are now focused on driving improvement to enhance the overall employee experience. The VP of HR will provide thought leadership in all areas of HR, including employee relations, talent management, organizational effectiveness, performance management and total rewards.
This role is based in our NYC office at least 3 days per week for the purpose of in-person relationship building and coaching team members who work in the office.
HR Business Partnership/People Strategy:
- Lead HR policies and programs across multiple areas such as performance management, compensation, culture, engagement, learning & development, and DEIB.
- Build and execute HR strategy to create a high-performance culture that promotes accountability, productivity, operational excellence and execution, while ensuring people practices align with business objectives.
- Partner with department heads as they develop and execute both long- and short-term business plans, providing input beyond the HR strategy.
- Lead the annual benefits renewal process in partnership with our PEO and create strategies to maintain or improve our existing packages and offerings.
- Partner with Finance on payroll processes, particularly managing leave of absence policies, procedures, and communications.
- Act as a strategic business partner to the executive/senior management team, providing advice and guidance on key organizational and management issues.
Employee Relations:
- Provide counsel on employee relations, talent management, and organizational design & effectiveness.
- Lead our annual performance management process and compensation and bonus planning cycles, ensuring consistency, fairness, and equity.
- Lead performance management discussions and corrective action procedures.
- Proactively identify people issues and trends, and implement solutions in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Culture:
- Support the culture committee to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, retention, and productivity.
- Develop innovative people programs with a focus on DEIB.
- Drive internal communications and change management tactics to implement HR initiatives.
THE CANDIDATE
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing People strategies that engage, promote, and support an inclusive and equitable workplace;
- In-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance;
- An empathetic and passionate leader with 12+ years of experience in HR/People functions; including 8+ years in senior HR roles with team management experience;
- An active listener with strong conflict resolution capabilities and critical thinking skills;
- Data-oriented, results-driven professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and
- Experience scaling HR functions at various stages of scale and maturity;
- Experience in leading organizational change and demonstrated ability to empower and influence people at all levels of the organization;
- Proven ability to create a partnership with teams that is people-centric and value-adding.

The salary range for this role is $170,000-$200,000. Your final base salary will be determined based on various factors which may include, but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications. You may be eligible to participate in Extend’s annual bonus plan, based on individual and organizational performance.
