Purpose of Position:
The Vice President, Global Sales is responsible for defining and executing the go to market strategy for Aldevron, globally. S/he will be a critical member of the leadership team, ensuring we build a culture of high performance and continuous improvement; attract, develop and retain best in class talent; and exceed our long term growth objectives. This individual will be responsible for ensuring sustainable, profitable growth through targeted investments in our global markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build capabilities around and champion use of the Danaher Business System; foster a continuous improvement culture and mindset within the team
- Act as a key leadership role in overall business strategy development; create and implement business and market strategy for new and existing service product offerings using input from cross functional partners to create effective market growth strategies; develop and manage long-term and 3-year strategic plan with detailed initiatives to reach client experience, growth and profitability goals for Aldevron
- Create and sustain a performance focused, metrics and continuous improvement culture to achieve market leading results
- Build a best in class, high performing global commercial team; oversee the development of direct reports with an active succession plan in place
- Apply VOC to inform future service opportunities; define and optimize the product & service portfolio through analysis and understanding of targeted markets, market trends, new technology, customer business issues and the competitive environment
- Establish processes, metrics, and compensation programs to enable sustained global growth
- Accountable for building and managing to annual budgets and profitability targets
- Establish, review and oversee the implementation of policies and procedures that ensures compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
- High intelligence and well-developed analytical skills; ability to analyze complicated issues and boil down to the key points, develop action plans and bring to a successful conclusion. Perseverance and consistency in pursuit of successful outcomes
- Significant experience in the biotech, medical device, healthcare or life science research industry
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across the organization including sales, service, technical support and business management functions
- Proven record of building a high performing organization; demonstrated success in leading a large sales organization and building critical capabilities in a complex selling environment
- Unquestionably high ethical standards and attention to reputational and compliance risks
- Strong managerial courage – ability to make tough decisions to ensure long term success of the organization
- Experience managing a P&L to drive focused investment
- Substantial experience within a complex selling organization in a high technology and medical product/service sector
- Bachelors or equivalent degree required
