Job Description
Overview
The Vice President, Content Finance Showtime/MTVE Studios is responsible for preparing and submitting a financial budget and forecast with analysis covering the spend across the studio content slate. The role is responsible for studio ROI’s, ultimates, content licensing and production cost planning and requires the ability to build strong relationships with senior leaders in the production, business affairs, and content planning organizations. Embedded in the Paramount Media Networks and Showtime/MTVE Studios Finance organization, the VP will oversee and develop their team, allocate their team’s time, provide constructive evaluations and feedback, mentor, and support their professional development.
Responsibilities
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting processes for studio content
Manage studio content ROI’s, partnering with streaming, licensing, business affairs, and P&R teams
Manage studio ultimates, exploring automation and process improvement opportunities
Partner with production, scheduling, and business affairs teams to manage content spend and programming slates
Partner with the streaming finance teams to model content slate scenarios for cost/expense planning
Manage content costs for titles across the studio slate and partner with production finance and FP&A teams to assist with analysis and consolidated cash planning
Analyze and monitor financial and operational performance, and supervise preparation of monthly reports
Lead ERP integration initiatives and help develop automated solutions for studio forecast models
Oversee cash forecasting submissions and process improvement opportunity for content licensing and P&R
Manage content cost allocations between DTC and TV Media segments for original studio slate
Oversee content planning for 3rd party studio productions
Manage forecasting and planning for participations & residuals expenses across the studio slate
Assist with calculation and management of imputed license fees for studio content
Partner with production finance teams to ensure production cost estimates reconcile to actual cash spend
Partner with Controllership to provide documentation and analysis needed for month-end close, audit, and control support
Motivate day-to-day and develop a team, by encouraging professional impact and a culture of feedback, mentoring and employee development
Advise senior management, providing decision support to help achieve business goals
Develop key metrics and dashboards to provide relevant executive level summaries on content performance and costs
Deliver ad-hoc senior management and corporate finance requests
Basic Qualifications
12+ years in Finance/Accounting; preferably within the Media/Entertainment industry
MBA or similar advanced degree/designation a strong plus
Additional Qualifications
Highly analytical, able to synthesize data and provide insightful narratives
Strong project management, organizational skills, attention to detail and work ethic
Results-oriented with ability to balance multiple assignments at a time in a fast paced environment to achieve desired results
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to convey information to a variety of internal and external audiences
Able to build strong relationships and skilled at engaging with senior business leaders and finance peers
Inspirational leader with strong change management skills
Comfortable working in an organization operating in a state of change/transformation

SAP / SAC / Longview / TM1 / E1 experience a plus

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $176,800.00 - 205,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
