The Merkury for Media team creates and sells client-centric solutions and products that address some of the most pressing challenges to our clients. We create solutions for people-based addressability, including audience insights, media planning, activation, and measurement. Working with the Commercial Partnerships and the relevant product leads in these families, you will grow the adoption of these solutions with our agency teams and clients.

You will build a consultative sales culture for the Merkury Activation engine and other addressability products, including identifying white space with existing product leads and ensuring that we are addressing the varied needs of our customers. Working in partnership with the Merkury for Media MD, Agyle MD, and Chief Trading Officer, you will develop and activate a sales strategy across all dentsu accounts, and ensure client satisfaction, retention, and revenue.

You will ensure the sales pipeline and forecast are accurate and manage both quarterly and annual revenue targets. You will take part in larger areas of agency development – aiding new business, collaborating across teams, and participating in North America client and commercial programs.

You are expected to have a working knowledge of the media industry, particularly how agencies work with clients and the dynamics at play in this relationship.

Responsibilities:

  • Employ best practice supply-side management and compliance and ethics standards.
  • Collaborate with internal team to contribute to daily strategic work for client(s) & commercial analysis for deals and partnerships.
  • Develop our annual customer engagement and business development strategy.
  • Drive the sales process from prospecting through opportunity development, using the existing team structure (and the new hires that will be provisioned)
  • Deliver the annual and quarterly revenue targets in for the Merkury Activation Engine.
  • Recognize the general media landscape, including leading and emerging media channels/partners
  • Coordinate with Finance, Merkury for Media MD, and Chief Trading Officer to ensure forecast and pacing are accurate.
  • Deliver clear and precise sales and presentation collateral, utilizing Media Solutions team and Marketing team members.
  • Analyze data and understand market patterns to produce strategic revenue opportunities.
  • Ensure feedback from clients on current solutions/offering and/or white space is being captured and communicated to the relevant Commercial Partnerships and product leads.

Client & Internal Relationships:

  • Establish internal relationships with other service line personnel.
  • Be the resource for Directors and Managers, for advice, counsel, and mentorship.
  • Look to identify opportunities to improve revenue generation, whether by creating new products/partnerships, identifying new partners or client opportunities, or margin improvement
  • Become the ambassador for the Merkury Activation Engine and any other products within the group.
  • Participate and present in New Business efforts and presentations
  • Experience with all elements of investment and revenue-generating partnerships and contracts/agreements – and an ability to pass this knowledge on to direct reports and junior members.
  • Ensure that feedback from teams is addressed in partner selection and negotiation process.

  • Ensure key information is being provided to the team regarding client issues, internal agency issues, changes in account status, etc.
  • Engaged member of the media industry, and solicits and delivers innovative ideas
  • Mindful of the client's point of view in the job description.
  • Construct and deliver accurate, honest, and timely performance management documents.
  • Provide guidance to team members and nurture/promote team environment.
  • Approachable and solution-oriented when presented with issues by staff and team.
  • Balance, prioritize and assign work associated with multiple, concurrent projects.
  • Breaks down problems into critical parts which can be resolved.
  • Set the standards, tone and people and process for the wider Canadian trading team.


Qualifications

  • Attention to detail and standards-based approach to management
  • Effective presenter and communicator
  • 5+ years of sales experience, consultative sales approach preferred.
  • Leadership skills and management experience
  • Articulate strategic foundation for their development.
  • 10+ years of analytical experience within media environment (sales or agency)

Additional Information


The anticipated salary range for this position is $136,000-$219,650. Salary is based on a wide range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.
Additionally, this position is eligible for discretionary bonus compensation. The company's bonus compensation plan is subject to change.
