Systems Analyst - Technical Staff

Position Description

The Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Systems and Architectures Group is seeking a Systems Analyst at the Technical Staff level to conduct mission-based performance assessments of future Department of Defense (DoD) systems and architectures.

The candidate will execute systems analysis studies of critical DoD missions, planned DoD capabilities, and new technologies. This requires the development of physics and engineering-based models of these systems in various programming languages, with an emphasis on MATLAB. The successful candidate will have the ability to understand a wide array of technologies related to sensors, aircraft, satellites, communication systems, navigation, and data exploitation. The candidate isn’t expected to have previous experience in these areas, but should have the technical background sufficient to learn them. Activities involve systems analysis, data analysis, physics-based modeling, software simulation, and engineering design, while working independently, as a member of a small technical team, or in a study leadership role. The position also requires the ability to construct high-quality briefings and present them clearly to a range of audiences, from technical experts to senior leaders.

Requirements

Doctorate in Physics, Mathematics, Aeronautics/Astronautics, Engineering, or a related technical field. In lieu of the doctorate, a Master’s degree with 5 years of experience will be considered. A minimum GPA of 3.5 is desired.

Desired Skills: The principal skills required are the ability to quickly learn new technical areas and apply that knowledge effectively to solve challenging mission problems. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly present technical concepts to a wide spectrum of audiences, are also desired.
