Job Description
Position Overview


The Senior Director, Field Operations leads teams essential to the end-to-end development of the optimal deployment and compensation for all commercial facing roles. This includes the continued evolution of deployment across all business and products as well as the alignment of a unified incentive structure. This team also defines the key metrics and assessment of the sales force activity primarily through our customer relationship management (CRM) tool. As we evolve the organization and add products, this colleague will be responsible for driving efficiencies in our sales operations processes and looking how to evolve our ability to manage, inform and optimize our commercial footprint and sales processes.


Essential Duties


Include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Motivate and inspire employees to do their best work through coaching.
  • Work with finance to develop and manage process that ensures accurate and timely incentive compensation accounting while supporting the organizations fiduciary responsibilities and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) accounting requirements.
  • Advise Exact and commercial leadership as to the best strategic deployment of resources based on the portfolio profile and the optimum use of resources.
  • Communicate goals clearly to employees to ensure understanding and success in achieving them.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand current state and provide solutions to optimize our commercial workforce planning and appropriate incentives to drive growth across the portfolio.
  • Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Design, implement, and manage incentive compensation strategies and practices for our commercial teams.
  • Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization.
  • Maintain morale and support employee engagement initiatives.
  • Drive adherence to approved governance for approvals for all incentive plans, payouts, special incentive plans, and changes; Recommend and implement services and solutions to deliver high quality incentive plans to the business units.
  • Ability to travel 25% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.
  • Partner with sales leadership to allocate sales quota across territories and resources.
  • Lead the technology strategy to automate and drive the evaluation of key sales activity metrics to better position our sales force; subsequently look to evolve incentive compensation practices and enabling timely and accurate assessment and proposed modifications that impact sales and sales leadership.
  • Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
  • Supervise staff; including, but not limited to, organize and prioritize work, write/conduct performance reviews, train/develop, and manage work performance.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Coordinate and drive the appropriate use and management of fleet assets.


Minimum Qualifications


  • 7+ years of experience leading or directing people and/or project teams.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to support a multinational and multiproduct salesforce.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technological strategies for incentive compensation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Finance, or other field related to the essential duties of the job.
  • 15+ years of experience in sales, sales operations, marketing, or finance.
  • Strong expertise in sales platform technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience developing sales incentive plans.
  • Experience working in diagnostics, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical organizations.
