Position Description:

The Motus People Operations team develops and implements best-in-class programs, policies, and processes to cultivate a positive and effective work environment and to recruit, develop, and retain the top talent vital to ensure the growth and success of Motus. We provide mentorship and guidance for leaders and managers cross-departmentally and help drive the strategic direction of the organization.

We’re looking for a Senior Manager of People Operations to be responsible for and implement core operational HR functions. In this role, you will play an integral part in maintaining a dynamic, fulfilling, and productive work environment for all Motus team members. Our ideal candidate is passionate about HR, people operations, and culture; is extremely organized, resourceful, and detail-oriented; and demonstrates empathy and integrity in everything they do. You will lead a team responsible for the execution of benefits, payroll, onboarding, HRIS, compliance, and all general operations across the People Ops function reporting directly to the VP of People Ops.

In addition to driving pivotal HR initiatives, you’ll have the opportunity to take on special projects that interest you, learn from hands-on training and mentorship, and grow within the team.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide policy guidance and interpretation to the People Ops team, leadership, and employees.
  • Administer all human resource information system (HRIS) maintenance, workflows, and integrations.
  • Administer employee leaves of absence and accommodations in accordance with FMLA, ADA, and other statutory requirements.
  • Support immigration program needs in partnership with legal counsel, including visa applications, I-9 management, and required filings and postings.
  • Supervise the semi-monthly payroll process in ADP WorkforceNow on schedule and ensure 100% accuracy of all payroll activities.
  • Lead merger and acquisition HR transition activities.
  • In 2023 and 2024, lead Motus’ move to benefits self-funding (from fully insured) and implement Phase 1 of the move from ADP to Workday.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to implement strategic culture initiatives.
  • Complete all HR compliance initiatives, including audits, EEOC, and regulatory filings; stay abreast of changes to the compliance landscape.
  • Lead and manage a team of two People Operations Specialists; provide ongoing coaching and development, quarterly performance feedback, and set team direction and goals.
  • Manage the People Operations communications calendar, including but not limited to drafting company-wide communications; presenting updates at monthly and quarterly all-company meetings; updating Motus communication channels with relevant information.
  • Create and implement People Ops processes, policies, and initiatives to improve the quality, efficiency, and scalability of the People Ops function and optimize the employee experience.
  • Lead the administration of all benefits programs including health & welfare, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and annual Open Enrollment.
  • Oversee the end-to-end facilitation of Motus’ preboarding and onboarding programs.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • High levels of empathy, integrity, and emotional intelligence
  • Experience managing HRIS and/or transitioning from one system to another; experience with Workday is a plus
  • Knowledgeable in managing the payroll function
  • Resourcefulness and an interest in creative problem-solving
  • Highly professional and approachable presence
  • Prior experience managing benefits; experience transitioning benefits from fully insured to self-funding a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills and acute attention to detail
  • Experience with ADP WorkforceNow
  • Ability to lead a team focused on the execution of goals, professional development, and well-being
  • Flexible and adaptable, the ability to switch gears quickly to get the job done
  • Prior experience with HR M&A activity
  • Strict adherence to confidentiality policies surrounding sensitive information
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5-7 years experience in People Ops (HR) at private equity-backed technology or SaaS companies
