Where do you fit in?
Signant Health is seeking a Senior Director of Cloud Operations to manage the company’s application development environment, customer facing product hosting team, and related security and compliance activities. Operating as part of the Information Technology team, you will bring in depth expertise in public cloud operations with expert AWS and/or Azure hosting experience to review, design and improve the operations, hosting, costs and performance of the environment supporting over 1000 internal developers and 100s of customers.

As part of our team, your main responsibilities will be:

• Working with the CISO, create a team culture where security is a top priority. In addition to responding to security audit findings, help the development teams “shift left” and integrate security earlier in the software development lifecycle. Maintain an audit ready posture.
• Manage a global team to ensure 24/7 support and operations. Integrate with product support to rapidly address customer issues and restore services to optimum service.
• Bring an “automate first” and “automate all” philosophy to ensure all operations are scalable, repeatable and reduce manual work.
• Working closely with Product Management, Commercial and R&D leaders to ensure the environments meet product, customer and development needs.
• Responsible for Disaster Recovery plans, ensuring optimal Recovery Point and Recovery Time Objectives to meet product and customer requirements. Perform routine testing to successfully demonstrate continuous safety of our and our customers’ data.
• Continuously monitor infrastructure costs to optimize for spending providing live and OnDemand dashboards for R&D leaders, business unit leaders and commercial/product owners.
• Inspire and motivate teamwork for achieving goals.
• Relentless focus on system availability and performance, putting key monitoring and alerting systems in place and generating key learning from even the smallest of issues.
• Identify and partner with key technology vendors.
• Bring the principles and practices of Site Reliability Engineering to a largely manual cloud operations teams.
• Working with Corporate Quality, establish and maintain a formal Quality, SOP and Work Instructions framework to demonstrate a commitment to product quality. Work with Audit teams to address customer audits and respond to their queries and actions.
• Key contributor to a technology roadmap.
• Continuously review, monitor and improve the design, operations, costs and operations of the hosting environment to ensure cost effective, business and customer enabling service.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering to improve and optimize the code->production lifecycle to reduce developer friction.
• Provide mentoring and identify training opportunities to team members, staying current in the latest technologies and best practices.
• Facilitate the day-to-day activities for a team of Cloud Engineers. Integrate Agile practices for optimal velocity and visibility of work.

You’ll need to bring :

• Database technologies focused predominantly on Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL
• CI/CD processes and tools like Jenkins
• Windows and .Net Framework, Linux
• Atlassian suite, including Jira, Confluence, BitBucket (Git-based)
• Solid understanding of Agile Software Development Lifecycle and DevOps concepts
• Web Server technologies including IIS, Weblogic, Websphere, and Apache Tomcat
• Container technology including Docker and Kubernetes
• 5 years experience managing large-scale cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), preferably in a commercial customer facing environment.
• Strong foundation in security, having executed security audits and remediating findings.
• Management of a multi-million-dollar technology budget
• 10 years experience providing technical leadership with global team members
