Job Description

Since 2018, Frame AI has leveraged the technology of Large Language Models (LLMs) to build the essential integration point for understanding customers. Frame AI empowers organizations to truly understand the people they serve. New technology offers an opportunity for processes that are both efficient and humane, by listening at scale. We use AI to pull individual voices from the crowds, recognize meaningful communities within giant aggregations, and power experiences that react to the needs of both customers and the people serving them. By listening better, we make better experiences, better jobs, and better businesses. Frame AI’s institutional investors include Velvet Sea Ventures, G20 Ventures, Greycroft, and FirstMark.

This Role

As a Senior Manager, People and Operations, you will be a seasoned, strategic, and process-minded leader. You will work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure a healthy, engaged culture among a diverse, talented team and to drive process, policy, and systems changes towards an inclusive and supportive work environment. This role will oversee all administrative and human resource functions of the organization and provide tangible support to staff while maintaining efficient, highly functional systems that align with our values and mission.

The base pay for this role is $111,000–$167,000 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits and company equity grants.

What You’ll Do

People Management

  • Execute promotion, retention, and career pathing strategies.
  • Oversee all aspects of recruitment to support the organization’s growth, including oversight of in-house recruiters.
  • Oversee and enhance people management functions, including development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and performance evaluation.
  • Provide immediate, tangible support to employees, including onboarding and offboarding, understanding and accessing benefits, and proficiently using existing systems for expense management.

Operations Management

  • Oversee day-to-day administrative functions.
  • Supervise relationships with all external vendors and contractors involved in finance, IT, and facilities.
  • Administer payroll and manage all health and fringe benefits through established vendors.
  • Coordinate the annual operations plan and manage the organizational budget.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to guide strategic planning processes and implement new processes aligned with the strategic plan.
  • Annually review and implement organizational policies in various areas such as People, IT, and operations.

Our Current Stack

You will have a direct impact on the tools and processes we use to help the company be successful. As a starting point, this is what we currently use.

  • Abacus (reimbursements)
  • Zoom
  • Quickbooks
  • Carta (equity, compensation, offers)
  • Stripe (AR)
  • Bill.com (AP)
  • Slack
  • Slavic401k
  • Asana
  • Google
  • Justworks (HRIS, insurance, benefits)

Requirements

  • Broad experience with the full range of business functions and systems, including strategic development and planning, budgeting, business analysis, finance, information systems, and human resources.
  • At least 5-8 years of professional experience.
  • High standards of confidentiality, sound judgment, discretion, and diplomacy
  • Proficiency in employee relations, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, compliance, and the ability to pivot between high-level strategy and tactical delivery.
  • Experience in a venture-backed organization.
  • Strong planning, organizational, problem-solving, and project-management skills.
  • Strong technology orientation and resourcefulness with a proven ability to use technology to achieve programmatic goals and mission values.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Our Values

  • It’s a good thing that our plans and projects change and evolve, but they should also always reach a meaningful conclusion. Endings are important. They are a moment of accountability and a critical time to investigate and acknowledge any new realities. Did we do what we said we’d do? Did we deliver on the standard we promised? Did it have the impact we thought it would? Did the landscape change? Did we learn something new that requires us to adjust our thinking?
  • Connect, Communicate, Collaborate 💬
  • Collaborate means to incorporate feedback into improved work.
  • …the status quo. We’re here to innovate, but not to disrupt for its own sake. Take the time to understand why things are the way they are—then investigate if they can be better.
  • Caring for colleagues by demonstrating consistent respect and inclusion.
  • Caring for our users by building with quality and integrity.
  • Caring about unrepresented perspectives by seeking diverse teams and partnerships.
  • Complete and Confirm ✅
  • We each feel our best – and do our best work – when we are in an environment where we are valued and respected. That environment comes from each of us paying attention, and making deliberate decisions to care about each other and those impacted by our work. This includes:
  • When we sunset initiatives we clean up after them, and when we confirm something works, we take the time to complete high-quality experiences. Our best work comes from repeated cycles of reflection and follow-through—agility can’t be an excuse to skip either part.
  • Customers over Craft 🙋
  • There are alternatives to collaboration! Some great works of art or science are completed in isolation. But our work requires constant grounding in the signals and goals attended to by others – so we must be masters of engagement.
  • Communicate means to loudly set out the goals of your work, inviting response.
  • At the heart of our vision to understand customers is making it possible for even very large organizations to make their customers feel individually respected and dignified. We should embody that same love for customers by making sure all of our long-term work is firmly rooted in better serving our customers and by prioritizing helping our customers ahead of our honing our craft on a day-to-day basis.
  • Care. 💗
  • Comprehend, then Challenge 🧠
  • Frame’s vision is that connecting humans makes a happier and more productive world. We practice this ourselves by building vibrant connections with our customers and partners, but also with each other and the rest of our community.
  • Understanding complexity is great, but creating complexity means putting up barriers to understanding and getting things done. For ourselves and for our customers, doing the extra work to make things clear and simple allows us to act with confidence and adapt faster later.
  • Connect means actively identify and engage stakeholders for your work.
  • Caring for the future by considering the sustainability of our practices.
  • Create Simplicity 🟠
