What’s the role?

As the Senior Analyst on the People Analytics team, you will be responsible for supporting company-wide human capital reporting, analysis and metrics development. You will support efforts to build a data-driven culture within the People Team at Etsy, as we seek to identify, develop and retain exceptional people.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Director, People Analytics and the base salary range will be 98,000 - 128,000 USD per year. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy. For this role, we are considering candidates based in the US who are either remote, flex, or office-based. Etsy offers different work modes to meet the variety of needs and preferences of our team. What does the day-to-day look like?

• Partnering with and supporting various People Team functions on our quest to make Etsy the place where people do the best work of their careers
• Delivering on regular and ad-hoc data, metrics and insights reporting
• Identifying, analyzing and interpreting trends/patterns across disparate sources of data
• Communicating the result of technical analyses to non-technical stakeholders in a way that enables them to make informed business decisions
• Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require! You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law.

Qualifications

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

• Proficiency R or Python for use in data analysis/data visualization
• Proficiency in SQL for use in reporting and data manipulation
• 3+ years of HR reporting and analytics experience, ideally with experience coming from a fast-growing company
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience using data and derived insights to construct a narrative and tell a story
• Working knowledge of data privacy best-practices when working with employee data
• Experience building presentations to effectively tell a story and present research findings
• Working knowledge of canonical HR functions (i.e. Talent Acquisition, Operations, Development, etc.)
• Proficiency in the use of dashboarding tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, etc.
• Experience with Workday or a comparable HRIS system, and an understanding of how to build reports and extract data
• Experience working with data from disparate sources of varying quality
