Job Description

We are seeking sales professionals with experience of selling into the chemicals and refining space at plant manager level. Whether it's valves, instrumentation, actuation or testing, MRO and project services you may possess the experience and network our client so desperately need to achieve its growth potential.


FMC are representing a global, fast-growth, private-equity-backed software vendor. Our client provides a simple, but unique piece of software that provides a measurable solution to challenges faced by plant managers, health and safety and maintenance leaders. Sold at plant level we are seeking individuals with established sales capability and networks within the chemicals and refining space. Individuals who sell daily at plant level and understand the customers' needs. You do not have to have prior experience in selling software.

The role

As a sales executive, your core focus will be onexpandingour client’s portfolio across the US, South East region.You willmeet with prospective customers,develop new profitable business relationships andwork to ensure the company’s sales goals are achieved.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with the sales and operations teams in achieving sales goals
  • Supporting the sales process from business development through to negotiation
  • Ensuring rapid responses to sales requests
  • Deliveringon projects on time and to budget
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
  • Establishing and maintaining business relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintaininga thorough understanding of the customers business


The requirements

Our client is looking fora top salesperson with extensiveoperations and plant leadershipexperiencewithin the chemical markets,as well as:

  • Able to communicate sales processes and strategies
  • At least 5yearsof experience in relevant technical sales in the industry
  • Able to travel across the territory (when permitted)
  • Knowledge of a large networkof operations contacts(petrochemical markets)
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proven self-starter who can build trusting relationships with customers
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Degree qualified inarelevantdiscipline
  • Background in operations, ideally selling to good in and out areas within chemical plants
  • Strong interest in moving from hardware to software
  • Strong team-working ability
  • Demonstrable, successful track record inplant-basedsales
  • Positive, motivated,and driven by finding new business opportunities
