Job Description
Are you an experienced HR professional looking for an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact? We're seeking a Regional People Partner to play a pivotal role in driving engagement, capability development, and performance improvement within our dynamic retail environment.


About The Role


As a Regional People Partner, you’ll join us on a 12-month fixed term contract and work in a field-based role covering our South region of Stores and Groom Rooms. You will collaborate closely with our regional field teams and retail division to develop and execute strategies that enhance engagement, nurture talent, and align with our Group People Strategy.


This role isn't just about delivering HR solutions – it's about being a true Business Partner, offering strategic insights, coaching and support to managers at all levels.


Our South region includes the following areas; London, Kent, Sussex, Berkshire, Surrey, Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Devon, Cornwall, Guernsey, Somerset and South Wales. Regular travel will be required across the region and on occasion, to our Support Office in Handforth (Cheshire). A company car is included as part of the package.


Key Responsibilities will include:


  • Overseeing the onboarding and ongoing development of Area Managers, both internal promotions and external hires, ensuring swift and effective performance
  • Collaborating with the Talent Acquisition team to fill vacancies aligned with regional succession plans, ensuring seamless onboarding experiences for all new hires
  • Collaborating with Learning & Development teams to identify and plan region-wide learning initiatives, fostering performance, capability and talent growth
  • Providing actionable feedback and coaching to enhance the leadership skills of your Retail Operations Director and Area Managers, fostering personal development and values-driven leadership
  • Building strong partnerships with your Retail Operations Director and Area Managers, advising and implementing effective people strategies that bolster retail business goals and align with our Group People Strategy
  • Driving talent identification and development, creating retention strategies and robust succession plans at the regional level
  • Advising and guiding on complex employee relations cases, partnering with the Colleague Relations team and contributing to policy reviews
  • Championing engagement and well-being initiatives, working with leaders to implement action plans that enhance overall team satisfaction and performance


About You


  • CIPD qualified
  • A team-oriented mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing at all organisational levels
  • Strong HR background and strategic agility to balance tactical and operational responsibilities
  • A change management ambassador with the capacity to support colleagues through periods of transition
  • High emotional intelligence, sound judgment and effective decision-making abilities
  • Proven experience in a Business Partner role, ideally within the retail sector
