Job Description

This role offers the following Work Appropriately strategy:

Description:
The OnStar Business Solutions (OBS) Sales Manager will lead, develop, and coach a team of sales team members promoting a customer-first approach to improve sales performance and generate revenue. The ideal sales manager has experience with the entire sales process, excelling at lead generation, relationship building, and deal closing. We’re looking for someone who has a passion for learning with strong negotiating skills — someone with a successful track record who can inspire the same performance in others. The role demands a leader who has a sharp mind and an ability to coach, advise, and motivate sales team members while building and maintaining a high-performance team.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities:
Leadership
  • Actively support the team to build and manage a pipeline of new opportunities 
  • Prepare weekly forecasting of sales, revenue and other KPIs for management
  • Coach team of OBS sales team members to develop customer management skills (e.g. moving stalled deals forward, positioning solutions to customers, and qualifying deals)
  • Collaborate to set sales objectives for the team, track individual progress towards objectives, drive team to meet and exceed objectives.
  • Tailor coaching approaches to team members’ learning styles and individual development needs 
  • Serve as a role model of company culture, embrace our values and ethics 
  • Work closely with OBS sales team to develop and execute sales strategies
  • Hiring/promotion/termination/growth of OBS sales team, as well as input into compensation decisions
  • Motivate, develop, and mentor the team to become top achievers and future leaders 
  • Coach team of OBS sales team to improve performance in their sales process, relationship building prowess, business acumen, while fortifying GM Behaviors.
  • Manage and track activities for all OBS sales team members – lead generation, sales/discussions meetings, presentations, and outcomes
  • Assist team in identifying the decision makers and influencers within their customers’ organizations 
Sales Innovation
  • Act as the voice of the customer within OBS
  • Provide continuous feedback and collaboration within OBS team to drive future product enhancements
  • Brainstorm new approaches and ideas to successfully position OBS product solutions with customers 
  • Collaborate with OBS and other GM business units to ensure customer success, solution adoption, and sales expansion
  • Identify key connected vehicle data/insights that will drive increased adoption, by solving customer needs and eliminating pain points.
  • Work cross functionally to develop profitable deal structures for GM
Skills and Experience:
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM account management applications
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative, rapidly evolving industry and organization
  • Ability to balance conflicting priorities and deal with ambiguity while maintaining effectiveness
  • Proven track record of consistent sales quota attainment
  • Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years commensurate job experience required
  • Must be willing to travel as needed (25-50%)
  • Proven people leader experience required or demonstrated ability to lead, influence and drive behaviors within a dynamic sales team
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of B2B sales leadership and/or account management leadership experience
  • Strong organization, time management and planning skills
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence internal stakeholders to drive results

Compensation
The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with state law.
  • The median level of salary compensation for this role is $104,700-163,800.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
