Job Description
SUMMARY The Manager, Leadership and Professional Development is responsible for identifying, developing and implementing strategic leadership development programs and initiatives in partnership with the Learning & Talent Development Director. The individual works closely with the Learning Design and Development Manager and the Implementation Manager to curate learning solutions, manage operational aspects of all program implementation, evaluates learning solutions, as well as promotes and markets learning solutions among HR Business Partners. Interfacing with all levels of leadership, the manager will collaborate with corporate business leaders, and HR to design and deliver impactful, practical learning solutions to improve Rite Aid's business impact. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned: % TIME


  • Assist in the identification, selection and implementation of leadership development resources from vendors, assist with budget management, strategic sourcing, program marketing, and internal communication of learning events. 10%
  • Increase the capabilities of leaders within the organization by providing resources for development in order to build associate knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as ensure a qualified and ready pipeline of successors. 15%
  • Design and manage innovative leadership and professional development initiatives and programs that support the strategic pillars of the organization and align with leadership competencies; develop learning road maps for leaders at all levels enterprise-wide. 20%
  • Align with and support organizational succession planning and performance processes. Identify development opportunities (i.e. stretch assignments/action learning assignments) to support the development of the organization’s high potential talent. 10%
  • Develop quantitative and qualitative metric tools to measure impact of leadership learning solutions on leader effectiveness, engagement and retention; modify programs as needed to support the evolving needs of the business. 5%
  • Demonstrates knowledge of adult learning principles and concepts, needs assessment, instructional design theory, evaluation methods, and technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of projects 5% SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position directly supervises Leadership and Professional Development Advisor, Training Specialist, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints.

Supervisory Responsibilities


This position directly supervises Leadership and Professional Development Advisor, Training Specialist, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints


Qualification Requirements


To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:


Education and/or Experience


Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) required.


7 years of experience in Delivering training in a professional or corporate setting (instructor-led to include virtual-led) required.


7 years of experience in Consulting focused on talent management, operational, and organizational development preferred.


7 Years Of Experience In Management Preferred.


The typical starting pay range for this position is between $112,300 - $144,800 annually, although wages can very based on experience and geography.
