About The Position
The Manager, Learning and Development is responsible for leading a team of instructional designers focused on delivering innovative learning solutions to Ameren co-workers.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Identify appropriate delivery modality based on business needs (communications, meeting guides, simulations, videos, online learning, blended learning, self-study, etc.)
  • Collaborate with other Ameren training teams for cross-functional efforts and initiatives; establish positive working relationships with training leaders throughout the company
  • Oversee and manage established training development process: analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation
  • Explore new technology to support innovative and interactive learning solutions, such as AR/VR, 3D modeling software, etc.
  • Anticipate training needs based on changes/development to business, processes, procedures, or standards; and then ensure those needs are met
  • Develop knowledge and skills of instructional design co-workers (internal/business, instructional design)
  • Build and maintain an internal network of subject matter experts to effectively identify key business challenges and develop appropriate approach to improve learning effectiveness and drive results
  • Manage and direct team of learning professionals responsible for designing and delivering high-impact training solutions to Ameren Illinois co-workers
  • Ensure all development projects are designed and delivered within timelines, scope and budget
  • Guide the development of instructionally sound, creative, high-quality learning solutions with high-impact results
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required. Seven or more years of relevant experience required (e.g., instructional design, adult learning, training delivery, etc.). Three or more years of supervisory or project management experience required.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects. Ability to work with tight deadlines required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 365. Must have demonstrated knowledge of learning technologies, such as LMS, Articulate/Storyline, Adobe suite, Camtasia, etc. and the following Ameren competencies: Think Customer, Inspire and Engage, Foster Innovation, Drive Results, Champion Learning, Build Trust, and Be Strategic.
