Martis Camp Club is seeking a knowledgeable Human Resources professional to join their team onsite in Truckee, California.


Martis Camp Club is a member-owned private club situated within the gated Martis Camp Community. Recognized as a Platinum Club of America®, Martis Camp Club supports a workforce of over 200 year-round Ambassadors and 200 plus seasonal Ambassadors who deliver exceptional levels of service through the delivery of our extensive programming, events, dining, and recreational amenities.


The Human Resources Director is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of Human Resource processes and policies to ensure that the Club can recruit, retain, and develop the most qualified individuals available to provide the highest levels of service. This senior-level thought partner will assist in formulating strategic HR functions across the organization to deliver value-added services to the Club's Management and Ambassador teams that reflect the current and future business objectives. The HRD maintains an effective level of business literacy about Martis Camp's labor and Ambassador benefits budgets, long-term employment forecast and strategy, organizational culture, and recruitment and retention efforts.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Assist managers in understanding Martis Camp policy and California Labor Law.
  • Assists Work Comp auditor with the annual audit.
  • Creates and maintains Ambassador personnel files in an organized, timely, and confidential manner.
  • Enrolls and maintains all changes with benefits carriers, including 401(k).
  • Provides guidance and input on department restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Coordinates all recruiting for open positions. Posts internal and external job ads.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of Ambassadors, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal counsel as needed/required.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures the organization's compliance.
  • Report all Worker’s Comp claims within the required timeframe and liaise with the adjuster, Ambassador, and Ambassador’s manager for the duration of the claim.
  • Coordinates and supports onboarding processes for new Ambassadors.
  • Provides annual 401(k) census to TPA for match calculation.
  • Manages all Leaves of Absence from initial paperwork through the return to work.
  • Consults with management and supervisors, providing HR guidance and interpretation.
  • Manages all Ambassador relations issues.
  • Manages and communicates the Ambassador Benefits including insurance, PTO, retirement plan initiation, as well as any other fringe benefit (e.g., fitness bonus)
  • Acts as Benefit Representative in all areas: worker’s compensation, Ambassador insurance, leaves of absence, benefits, perks, etc.
  • Must be available in case of employment emergencies.
  • Supports Work Visa processes (e.g., H2B, J1)
  • Assists Managers in preparing and delivering disciplinary actions; serving as a gatekeeper to ensure company policies and procedures are being followed consistently.
  • Works closely with Management and Ambassadors to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Identifies and coordinates training needs for the company, departments, and individuals.
  • Manages and resolves complex Ambassador relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Ensure that OSHA logs are maintained and posted as required by law.
  • Drafts employment and termination letters
  • Provides support with Ambassador coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions, etc.
  • Provides auditors with all requested information for the annual 401(k) audit.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Ambassador handbook, policies, and guidelines.
  • Maintains all records, processes, and policies as required by law.
  • Participates in the evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a Human Resources management position resolving complex Ambassador relations issues.
  • Flexibility to work outside the normal business workweek as needed.
  • Maintain high ethical and moral standards.
  • Ability to interact and develop positive relationships within the organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Thorough knowledge of State and Federal laws governing Human Resources practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Bilingual preferred (English / Spanish)
  • PHR or SPHR preferred
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and guest service skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.

WAGE RANGE: $140,000-$165,000 annually (DOE)
