Job Description
JOB SUMMARY


Under general supervision of the Director, HR and as a strategic partner to the Director of Talent Acquisition, Staffing Collaborative, the Human Resources Manager (HRM) collaborates with Senior HR and Management teams to support operations to implement and administer the full range of enterprise-wide HR initiatives, programs and policies to include Workforce Planning, Performance Management, Employee Relations, Leadership and Professional Development, Training, Total Rewards and HR Compliance. This is a start-up environment in which the HRM will function in a generalist compacity handling all HR items from end to end. The HRM also manages the administrative support team.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES


  • Provides support to Program Department and Executive Leadership team.
  • Intakes related to infectious disease as applicable.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Handles the day-to-day functioning of HR providing input and suggestions on projects and initiatives, addressing employee questions and concerns, and ensuring legal compliance.
  • Provide guidance, interpretation and support to employees and business leaders on California Staffing Talent Collaboration policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Responsible for preparing and delivering new hire and onboarding presentations.
  • Coordinates with payroll department in a timely manner to ensure accuracy of final wages.
  • Handles all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire-orientation, transfer, promotions, terminations, and exit interviews, including data entry in human resources information system (HRIS) and audits for accuracy and compliance.
  • Facilitation of monthly performance development training as needed.
  • Initiate and support Leave of Absences (LOA) and collaborate with Leave of Absence Administrator as needed.
  • Creating and maintaining data entry/tracking sheets as needed.
  • Update and maintain physical and electronic employee files.
  • Summarizes and reports organization payroll information.
  • Travel required to various regions at least 25%
  • Generate LMS compliance reports and compile metrics for exit data to cascade to Executive Leaders
  • Researches, develops, and proposes policy updates, new policies and/or update procedures/guidelines to support growing and evolving organization.
  • Organizes own work to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Lead and manage projects.
  • Manages written and verbal communications with employees, managers, and candidates in a professional manner.
  • Verify accuracy of time/attendance data and payroll records.
  • Completes special projects by conducting research and developing and organizing information.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relation issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS


  • Able to complete multiple assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent customer service skills.
  • Must have independent decision-making ability and problem resolution skills.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking.
  • Ability to use judgment and experience to resolve employee issues related to time and attendance, payroll, California Schools Talent Collaborative policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to take on additional tasks.
  • Working knowledge of ADP.


QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION


  • Minimum 5+ years of prior HR experience, required.
  • Strong working knowledge of California and Federal HR regulations to include Wage & Hour, Title VII, FLMA, CFRA, ADA, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources Mgmt./related field, required.
  • Experience in an HR department for a start-up organization preferred.
  • Effective working with staff members at all levels across the organization
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communications skills.
  • Professional Human Resources Certification preferred. Such as, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRMSCP, GPHR.
  • Desire to collaborate with staff, community leaders, management, and external partners to fulfill California Schools Talent Collaborative mission.
  • Effective at making presentations and influencing others.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage broad scope job responsibilities.
  • Minimum 2 years managing a team, required.
