Description


Are you an organized and detail-oriented individual with a passion for supporting human resources functions? We are partnering with a local non-profit who is seeking an HR Assistant to join their team.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities


  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Provides scheduling and calendaring support to the HR Specialist, and managers as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining an accurate database in Relias and the Change Company, as well as monitoring that all trainings have been completed as needed.
  • Responsible for employee-related data, such as turnover reports, debarments, EEOC reporting, and updating phone rosters.
  • Responsible for entering employee changes in Paycom and verifying the accuracy of changes made by team members.
  • Responsible for new hire paperwork, including the development of the HR File (soft), entering new employees into the Payroll System, ensuring required documentation is obtained, and assisting the HR Specialist in ensuring all employees are trained on VVSD’s policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for creating new employee files (hard), and pulling terminated personnel files, I-9 forms and background check forms and file in designated termination drawers/boxes.


Requirements


Requirements and Qualifications:


  • A team-oriented, self-motivated individual capable of multi-tasking.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an administrative support role.
  • Microsoft Office Suites Proficient (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Some previous HR experience beneficial, APHR certification highly desirable.
  • Demonstrates strong initiative and requires minimal supervision.
  • Associate degree is required; college degree is preferred.
  • Proven interpersonal communication skills to interact professionally, at all levels, with a diverse population.
  • Ability to follow directions and execute tasks successfully within an assigned time frame.


Physical Requirements


  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard.
  • Vision to read reports and data.
  • Ability to speak, read and write English.
  • Capable of hearing and speaking to exchange information.
  • Comfortable working in a noisy, busy environment.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time while viewing a computer monitor.
  • Ability to bend and lift light objects.
