Position Summary


  • Located in San Diego, CA.
  • Director of Human Resources reports to Vice President of HR and Talent Acquisition.

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic professional to join our organization as the Director of Human Resources. In this role, you will be responsible for collaborating with senior leaders and business stakeholders to develop and implement effective HR strategies and initiatives that align with organizational goals and drive business success. As the Director of HR, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our HR practices and programs are strategically aligned, enhance employee engagement, and promote a positive and inclusive work culture.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Stay current on employment laws and regulations and advise management on emerging legal issues that may impact the organization.
  • Employee Relations and Compliance:
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and legal requirements to ensure HR strategies and practices are up to date.
  • Develop and implement HR plans, programs, and initiatives that support the overall organizational strategy and drive employee engagement and productivity.
  • HR Program Development and Implementation:
  • Provide guidance and support on organizational design, change management, and employee development initiatives.
  • Leadership and Strategy:
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, acting as a trusted advisor and thought partner on all HR-related matters.
  • Proactively identify HR needs and opportunities within the business and develop and execute plans to address them.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of HR programs and initiatives, ensuring they are aligned with business needs and promote a positive employee experience.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to senior leaders, partnering with them to align HR strategies with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to assess talent needs, develop workforce plans, and implement strategies to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
  • Monitor HR metrics and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and company policies, and proactively mitigate any potential risks.
  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Business Partnership:
  • Drive the adoption of HR best practices, policies, and procedures across the organization.


Competencies


  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent understanding of California state employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and manage complex organizational initiatives.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and industry trends.
  • Experience navigating and advising on California-specific HR matters, such as wage and hour regulations, leaves of absence, and discrimination and harassment laws.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to understand and align HR strategies with business objectives.


% TRAVEL REQUIRED:


  • Ability to travel 40% - 50% between the West and South regions in the first six months.


Qualifications & Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred, or equivalent Military or practical experience.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 7 years in HR Business Partner or strategic HR roles.
  • Professional certifications such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR are desirable.


The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate’s unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.


In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark’s’ benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc.Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
