- Stay current on employment laws and regulations and advise management on emerging legal issues that may impact the organization.
- Employee Relations and Compliance:
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and legal requirements to ensure HR strategies and practices are up to date.
- Develop and implement HR plans, programs, and initiatives that support the overall organizational strategy and drive employee engagement and productivity.
- HR Program Development and Implementation:
- Provide guidance and support on organizational design, change management, and employee development initiatives.
- Leadership and Strategy:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, acting as a trusted advisor and thought partner on all HR-related matters.
- Proactively identify HR needs and opportunities within the business and develop and execute plans to address them.
- Oversee the design and delivery of HR programs and initiatives, ensuring they are aligned with business needs and promote a positive employee experience.
- Provide strategic guidance and support to senior leaders, partnering with them to align HR strategies with business objectives.
- Collaborate with business leaders to assess talent needs, develop workforce plans, and implement strategies to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
- Monitor HR metrics and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement and recommend appropriate actions.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and company policies, and proactively mitigate any potential risks.
- Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Business Partnership:
- Drive the adoption of HR best practices, policies, and procedures across the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent understanding of California state employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change and manage complex organizational initiatives.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and industry trends.
- Experience navigating and advising on California-specific HR matters, such as wage and hour regulations, leaves of absence, and discrimination and harassment laws.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to understand and align HR strategies with business objectives.
- Ability to travel 40% - 50% between the West and South regions in the first six months.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred, or equivalent Military or practical experience.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 7 years in HR Business Partner or strategic HR roles.
- Professional certifications such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR are desirable.
