Job Description
Salary Range: $16.66 - $22.98


Pay rates are determined based on experience and internal equity.


Position Summary


  • Plans, coordinates, and implements a variety of technical personnel work, and complex clerical tasks, most of which involve extensive computer use.
  • Demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the department and organization; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits; and treats visitors, staff and physicians.
  • This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.
  • Must work well under stress or tight deadlines.
  • Must work well with supervisors, co-workers, patients/residents, family members and visitors.

Position Duties/Responsibility:
  • Maintenance of HR files and filing systems.
  • Maintains LVMC’s uniform program.
  • Plans or assists in planning employee functions such as the semi-annual Ceremonies of Champions.
  • Maintains outstanding monthly scholarship loan statements.
  • Maintains LVMC’s staff master list.
  • Follows up on delegated tasks for quality and completeness.
  • Assist with departmental functions.
  • Other Duties Assigned by Supervisor
  • Complies with established hospital policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with others to achieve department and organizational goals.
  • Participates in orientation of new staff in the department.
  • Demonstrates a professional, supportive attitude for the department staff.
  • Uses general office machines such as printer, copier, computer, I.D. camera, and folding machine in a safe and competent manner.
  • Oversees the proper credentialing of all allied health staff before such staff are permitted to work.
  • Maintains confidentiality of information acquired or overheard pertaining to patients, physicians, employees, and the business of LVMC.
  • Promotes a positive work environment.
  • Maintains employee HealthStream accounts.
  • Accepts responsibilities in a professional manner.
  • Coordinates the on-boarding process for newly hired employees.
  • Coordinates work assignments appropriately to ensure completion of required activities.
  • Performs complex clerical tasks including reviewing reports and other materials for proper format, grammar, and spelling.
  • Understands, interprets personnel policies and procedures; gathers, interprets, and analyzes data.
  • Being flexible to changing systems.
  • Is receptive and responsive to new ideas.
  • Exhibits knowledge of the fundamental principles and practices of human resources administration; basic research methodology and statistical techniques; laws and regulations regarding recruitment and selection procedures.
  • Utilizes the appropriate chain of command for resolution of difficult issues.
  • Assists with the administration of LVMC’s permissively self-insured workers’ compensation program.
  • Process HR Mail (Incoming & Outgoing).


Essential Functions:
  • The ability to keyboard and have fine motor skills.
  • The ability to work as a Team.
  • The ability to utilize a variety of computer programs.
  • The ability to be supervised.
  • The ability to have positive personal interactions with staff, patients/residents and visitors.
  • The ability to communicate by telephone or in person in a clear and consistent manner.
  • The ability to work with constant interruptions, and still complete work assigned.


Position Qualifications:
  • LVMC reserves the right to modify the minimum requirements depending on the needs of the organization.
  • Skills/Ability: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exhibits the ability to organize work assignments and follow through with accuracy, exercises good judgment, demonstrates initiative, emotional stability, tact and poise.
  • Certifications: None required.
  • Experience: Any combination of work experience, education and/or training which substantially demonstrates the ability to fulfill the requirements of the position. Typically, this would include two (2) years of higher education, or two (2) years of increasingly responsible clerical work.
  • Education: Graduation from high school or possession of a GED certificate; two years of college (AS or AA degree) desired.
